Do not use unclean images. Any image which was booted  should be avoided. Do not post them, do not download them - delete them.

Oh, sorry. As an alternative I will have to ask someone more skilled than me to make a clean image without MATE, or something else, so that it is minimalistic and allows running an Openhab installation on a 512MB PINE and 4GB SD card.

Is anyone willing to do this?

What the diference between this release and the one on the pine64 official site?

There is no GUI, which saves SD card space and RAM usage.

It doesn't work in this build for me... but then again - it doesn't work in Android Lollipop build either (the ONLY O/S build Pine have provided that supports the LCD touchpanel they supply)...   There's a bug reporting tool somewhere - I've added my 2 cents worth...

I installed bluez (5.3.x something?) and tried running it in the CLI - but - it just >>hung<< my terminal session - no response...

I had also trouble myself to get t to work on the latest Android image. I had to remove it and put it back several times until it was eventually recognized by the board.

Make sure you are placing it the correct way and all the pins sit tight.

I can not able to connect to internet. I can see I am connected to my wifi and I can also able to access my network drive and play movie and music so it looks my wifi card is working.

BUT when I try to use browser, It give me msg saying unable to connect. Why?  If I can able to access my network drive that means my wifi is working then why cant I able to access internet. It is quite frustrating.

Any expert advice will highly appreciated.

I had to run ifdown eth0 and a quick reboot to get the internet working. For some reason that was required. Still no ethernet for me though...

As I have mentioned before I have been working away on a Tutorial/Resource site for the community and I am glad to say it is up but not entirely completed.

I have a few tutorials in the works (screenshots and all) that are undergoing the editing process not to mention some of the site mechanics that are in the works. Thus far I have documents and every image available for download from my servers and some news items (Backerkit news) posted already.

The intention of this site is to share information and provide resources in a more refined manner and not to take away from the Forum or Wiki. Anything and Everything that goes up on the Tutorial/Resource site will be duplicated and added to the Official Pine64 Wiki and/or Forum where ever applicable.

Furthermore, as this is a community effort, myself and a select group of individuals will be taking in any tutorials, OS images, software and useful information from those of you who wish to add to the knowledge base for the Pine64.

Please note that this is not an Official Pine64 site, but I will be providing a level of access to the Pine64 Team in hopes of doubling our efforts in building a large and prosperous community. Think of it as Debian/Ubuntu or Android/Linux kind of relationship.

With that all being said let me introduce you all to Pine64.Pro.

Just wanted to let everyone know that aside from putting together images and helping folks in the community I am also developing a website for all sorts of Pine64 related news, tutorials, software and showcases.

I hope to have something up by next week Tuesday.

So hang tight and remember if I can help you I will do my best to do so. Also remember to give longsleep, apritzel and umiddelb a high five for their contributions in the Linux ecosphere for the Pine64. I know that without them I would not have been able to put most of this together.

Also thank the Pine guys that actually spend time to interact with the community, it's great to see them take the time to get involved in their current busy schedules.

I just received my Pine 64. I'm trying to create a boot Micro SD card with a Linux image on it. I tried downloading the image from the Pine 64 web site, but the Pine doesn't see it. I am working from a Windows 10 workstation and am using Win32 DiskImager. Is there a Linux distribution that will create a bootable image using Win32 DiskImager?
