Cannot Boot From SD Card
#1
I recently got a PineBook Pro and wanted to try a different OS.  I downloaded and flashed Armbian and TwisterOS images to micro SD cards, but I cannot boot from them.  When I power on the PB with the micro SD card inserted, the screen is blank and the power light blinks about once per second.  Is there something else I need to do to?  I feel like there's something obvious I am missing.

This should be a "sticky" somewhere.

The version of Manjaru that comes pre-installed on the 2022 Pinebooks Pro, includes a U-boot that does not allow booting from micro-SD card.

The ways to resolve this are
1) replace the U-boot on the eMMC with a different one, or possibly Tow-boot
2) wipe out the eMMC and install a different operating system on it.
3) install Tow-boot to SPI ROM (I do not actually recommend this, but it can be done, apparently).
4) disable the eMMC

Thanks for the reply!  I was able to install Tow-boot to the SPI Flash by following their directions and that gives me a boot menu.  However, I had to disable the eMMC first.

Thanks.

Hopefully you can find everything here: https://forum.pine64.org/forumdisplay.php?fid=117
That is where all the Pinebook Pro tutorials are supposed to be.  Except for using Tow-boot, I have been doing these things the hard way since the early days of the PBP, and I just muddle my way through every time.
