  no sound from firefox
Posted by: Uturn - 03-24-2020, 02:39 AM - Forum: General Discussion on Pinebook Pro - Replies (2)

On my stock debian system, I installed Firefox, as Chromium did not work well.
Now I con't get any sound support form Firefox. However, I do get sound from Rhythmbox.
What could be my problem? (In Manjaro on SDcard Firefox gets sound support, but the system is slow).

  unresponsive trackpad after firmware update
Posted by: mamboman777 - 03-23-2020, 07:19 PM - Forum: General Discussion on Pinebook Pro - Replies (6)

I'm running updated manjaro with KDE. disable touchpad while typing is clearly not working, despite any software settings I use, so I decided to try the firmware update again. I use the pinebook-pro-firmware-updater in the AUR and it appears as if both steps complete successfully, but my trackpad is completely unresponsive after step 2. could someone please help me problem solve this issue?

  Window manager
Posted by: GloriousCoffee - 03-23-2020, 05:28 PM - Forum: General Discussion on Pinebook Pro - Replies (4)

I've just successfully set up Debian with FDE (https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=9467&page=2)
Had some issues with installing window managers although Gnome did install without any issues and the system runs with it.
I have afterwards tried installing both Cinnamon and Xfce with apt along side Gnome and I can log in fine to both Cinnamon and Xfce without issues, but as soon as I hit right click button on the touch pad, I get logged out (or may be it crashes?). Does anyone have any clue what is going on here?

  How to reinsert battery cable?
Posted by: gigamegawatts - 03-23-2020, 02:13 PM - Forum: PineTime Hardware and Accessories - Replies (2)

I knocked the battery's ribbon cable out of my PineTime, and I haven't been able to reinsert it.

The white connector has metal clips on the outside, so I'm guessing I'm supposed to press the clips in. I thought maybe the top of the white connector would then flip up, but that doesn't seem to be the case. There's a black plastic plug at the back of the white connector, so I'm guessing that is supposed to slide out, and that did work.

So, is this the process?...

1. Press the metal clips on the outside of the white connector
2. Slide the black plastic block out of the back of the white connector
3. Insert the ribbon cable into the front of the white connector
4. Press the metal clips again, and slide the black plastic block back in.

That's what I tried to do, but in the process I damaged the white connector so badly that neither the ribbon cable nor the black plastic block will fit into it.  The white plastic is surprisingly brittle, so my tweezers broke various pieces off it.

Fortunately I have a 2nd PineTime, but I'm wondering how this connector is supposed to work in case I need to use it again.

Thanks,

Dan.

  Flickering screen
Posted by: Indeed - 03-23-2020, 07:38 AM - Forum: Linux on RockPro64 - No Replies

Hi there.
Recently I have bought new monitor with the resolution 2560x1440. And it blinks with red color (flickering is very short) every now and then, not very often, once every few minutes. It's really annoying. When I set resolution 1920x1080 it works fine.

I use Ubuntu 18.04.2 with LXDE.

Is there any solution to solve that problem?

Bluetooth issue, don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Posted by: MIchael - 03-22-2020, 06:34 PM - Forum: General Discussion on Pinebook Pro - Replies (1)

Default Debien installed, Mrfixit, touchpad, and Winevine updates done.

Sound works fine UNTIL I hook up a bluetooth Pioneer Ironman headphone. It connects just fine, shows as the output but it wont work. Netflix in Chromium stays buffering and the headphones stop working, cant even turn them off. I turn off bluetooth on the PBP and the headset and netflix start working just fine. Connect back to the headphones and it locks back up.

Has anyone experienced this and if so, is there a solution?

Thanks,

Michael

Pinebook Pro never charge to 100%
Posted by: esud - 03-22-2020, 01:30 PM - Forum: General Discussion on Pinebook Pro - Replies (2)

I have following problem: My Pinebook Pro with the default OS never charge to 100%. So, when it is connected with the 5v charger, when I put the mouse on battery icon, the maximal percentage what I can see is 93% ("Laptop battery charging (93.0%)"). Do someone know if this is a hardware or software problem? And are there another people who have similar problem?
