Hi,
What do you guys think about including HRV sensor and Oxygen sensor inside the device? From what I know hrv sensor itself could replace current pulse meter because it can do more operations out of the box.

Dvorak Keyboard Input

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere.
I just want to ensure that I can change my keyboard input to Dvorak on the Pinebook Pro. This is fairly easy on most keyboards, but I wanted to make sure I could do it here before I purchase. It's an easy change on my System 76.
Just to clarify, I don't want to change the physical keys, just the input. I touch type, so I don't look at the keys anyway. They could be blank for all it matters to me.
Thanks for your help.

pmbootstrap build large keyboard not usable

I have done two builds using a Manjaro distro with pmbootstrap and they both resulted in a bootable image that had a gigantic keyboard that went off the screen and was not usable.
Is this a new issue, or possibly some issue created by building it with Manjaro?
Distributor ID: ManjaroLinux
Description: Manjaro Linux
Release: 20.0.3
Codename: Lysia
Linux linux-ThinkPad 5.6.16-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Jun 3 14:26:28 UTC 2020 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Latest Installer Image hangs after updates

I used the latest 2020-Jul-16 12:26 image and was able to burn and SD card then go through the installation. Once the installation completed and rebooted I went to the Software application and chose updates. I got an initial error message about a Gnome component which I closed out then it showed all the updates. I applied all the updates and rebooted. Now it just hangs with a white/green/purple LED cycling. I have tried this twice on two different SD cards with the same result.
Is this expected or have others noticed the same behavior?

RAM cooling, thermal pads, paste, and height difference

The wiki says we can use either the thermal pad or thermal paste between the heat sink and the rk3399. However, the RAM chips and SoC have different heights, so using the usual thin layer of paste would leave the RAM unprotected. (Worse than that, actually, since the heat sink would block airflow across the RAM surface.)
This leads me to a few questions:
1. What exactly is the height difference between the RAM and SoC? Is a mechanical diagram available? (This would tell us the thickness required for copper shims to compensate for the difference.)
2. If we were to cut the thermal pad (included with 30mm heat sink) into smaller pieces for use on the RAM chips, and then apply a very thin layer of paste to the SoC (with no pad), would the pads on the RAM prevent the heat sink from sitting flush against the SoC + paste?
3. Thomas Kaiser (tkaiser of Armbian) mentions in this post the risk of a short when using the heat sink with thermal paste alone, but the picture he refers to is no longer available. What contacts might short in this scenario?
4. Can the DRAM ever get hot enough to require a heat sink? (Maybe it doesn't need cooling?) If so, what sort of load causes it to get that hot?

Mobian snd_seq not installed

I've been trying to get Mame and a midi sequencer called "drumstick" to work on Mobian, and I keep getting an error where /dev/snd/seq file or directory not found.
Both crash while starting
Apparently the kernel was compiled without CONFIG_SND_SEQUENCER set, therefore snd_seq wasn't compiled into the kernel.
Can the flag be set in an upcoming update? I don't even know what the sound hardware on the Pinephone is.
Also there doesn't appear to be a modprobe for Mobian.
ScummVM works, (I played Full Throttle with full audio, no problems) and I suspect the error has something specific to do with MIDI sequencing.
edit: modprobe's there, I forgot to sudo when I ran it and just assumed it too was missing.

Recently, a new version of Pinephone with a docking station appeared on the Internet. I am very happy that Pine64 is developing better and better, but ...
In 2011 (around) Motorola released its smartphone, which was interesting for many hackers - Motorola Atrix and for some time continued its idea of connecting the phone with a computer using the so-called Lapdock
![[Image: lapdock2-0stdhighpovatri-91e79e1.jpg]](https://i.wpimg.pl/730x0/m.gadzetomania.pl/lapdock2-0stdhighpovatri-91e79e1.jpg)
So, in short, the shell of a laptop to which the phone was connected, which became a laptop.
Maybe Pine64 team can think if they could make such a project for Pinephones? Normally people would use Pinephone and connect to it with all the data in one place. In case of hardware upgrade (e.g. new version of PinePhone) you can just buy a new PinePhone and keep the station.
Often such stations allow you to connect e.g. Raspberry Pi. If the product would be cheap (I don't want to say here how much it should cost, but in my opinion about 100 dollars - HP sells its own for about 700 dollars - I think they fell on their heads, cause you can buy 3 pinebook pro). And I think everybody would be happy.
