If the modem is certified with carriers, why won’t they activate SIMs?

You give a carrier or MVNO your IMEI, where the first 8 digits are a TAC that identifies the EG25-G, and the next six digits are just some sort of serial number (I think), and then a checksum digit, and rather than saying “Oh, the Quectel EG25-G! A fine piece of hardware! It’s been certified by the carrier, has a VoLTE profile, etc., so you’re all set, and enjoy your service!”, they say “Sorry, we can’t help you.” — so most people having to activate their SIMs in other phones.
What am I not understanding?
And is the situation likely to improve in some way over time, or is this just life for PinePhoners?

Unable to mount root partition PostmarketOS

Hello beautiful people!
I got the new community edition shipped with Postmarket OS, it is a nice! However, I wanted to try different OS, thus I was trying to play smart and I got myself blocked now after I deleted the partition that holds the system file for PostmarketOS, so for now I only have the partition for booting only with no OS file system.
I read in different threads that I can start my PinePhone on recovery by connecting USB A-C cable, holding the volume up button with the power button, but this didn't work for me.
I am now considering using Jumpdrive on an SD that I will buy, but I want to see if any of the geeks around can help me to see if this problem can be solved without getting an SD card, just by using a USB cable and computer with Linux system on it.
The message my phone now stuck in is the logo of PostmarketOS and written under "unable to mount root partition" https://postmakretos.org/troubleshooting
Thanks for your insights and help!

Hello all,
As new on the forum and in your PINE world, I greet everyone. I came here looking for a Linux tablet, whatever. My attention was drawn to PINETAB - Tablet 10.1 Linux Tablet With Detachable Backlit Keyboard.
Unfortunately, I can see availability problems. Can anyone give a realistic date?
I am waiting for the opportunity to buy like gifted with ADHD .

PineTab: Next OS ?

What operating system will follow the Ubuntu Touch on the PineTab ?
Will Post Market OS be next as was the Pine phone, or straight to the Manjaro OS, as both the
phone and the Pinebook Pro are moving to.?
I am kind of Hoping for a Mobian OS edition, as it works so good on the Pine phone, and Debian
has a huge support base.
I would ask about Zorin OS, but their very first release of a Arm64 operating system is tentatively
proposed for late December of this year.

Not sure where this post fits, but since I'm a first time user I'll put it here.
I recently received a PineBook Pro. I am very enthusiastic about this project and would like to get everything up and running well, but I'm worried by some problems I have been having that I've never seen with any other Linux install or computer, and I've installed many.
The biggest worry has been the keyboard. On first boot, all went well with login and input of requested info. As suggested, I updated the software on the PineBook Pro. I rebooted, and after rebooting, all was still well. After charging, the next time I booted and logged in all went well, but suddenly the keyboard was unresponsive. I logged out to see if that would fix the problem. However, I was not able to log back in because the login failed. I enabled password visibility so I could see what I was typing. The keys I hit had nothing to do with the letters that appeared.
The first letter I typed did not appear at all. After that, all letters appeared as CAPS, even though caps lock was not on. Turning caps lock on resulted in letters being typed in lower case. However, whether caps lock was enabled or not it was impossible to type any numbers. The symbols above the numbers was all that appeared.
Rebooting once, then twice did not solve the issue. I was unable to login. Thinking it a lost cause, I shut down the computer. This morning when I rebooted I could login and all was well. For awhile....
Then the same issue started repeating itself. This time I noticed it was mainly an issue of caps or not. If I typed a letter, I could get caps, but if I kept re-typing it, I would get some lower case letters to appear as well. At any rate, nothing consistent. Of course, this makes the PBP essentially unusable, especially when I need to type a password in the terminal and can't see what's being typed!
However, I need a computer that I can rely on. I take it with me and need to know when I boot I can login without any trouble. I need to know what this problem was so I can avoid it. Perhaps I should mention that KWin constantly crashes. I tried LXQt to see if it might be a KDE issue, but kwin also crashed just as much. Reinstalling kwin didn't help.
My eventual plan is to remove Manjaro which I have never liked and install another distro, probablly Arch Linux since there is quite a bit of PBP software for it. My second choice would be Fedora.
Has anyone had this kind of issue? I really want to be a PBP user but need reliability.

My incoming SMS stopped working somwhere around the Sep.1-2 nightly builds. My carrier is Bell in Canada. Everything else seems to function flawlessly. Daily driver ready for me if I can get my SMS full capabilities back. Anyone else have this same issue?

Howdy all!!
1st I am a complete newbie to Manjaro. I have about 4 months experience with Mint, but when my Pinebook Pro recently came in I feel like I am learning a new operating system all over again. If you are kind enough to help, please be kind and treat me like a kindergarten child...
I use MEGA Cloud almost extensively for my file storage and use a Cryptomator vault. I have no clue how to install these. I could not find them in the repositories and am not finding much on the webs as far as a how-to.
I'm a slowly converting normie, and really appreciate the help!!
Cheers!
P.S. My Pinephone just left China!! Kinda giggity about it!!

So i got 3 of those Rock64 boards off Amazon, i only got one emmc card for one so far.
I went threw all of the Android files (Android is all i really know how to use as of now)
Anyway i installed one that is Android 9 tv emmc boot and one that is SD boot. My issue is the SD boot one has a defualt of 1920 x 1080, the emmc install deufalts at 1280 x 720 and it wont change in the settings, ive reinstalled the operating system more then once and its like stuck in the firmware or somethin
Can some one guide me on how to fix this so its like the SDboot version?
I tried to install the SDboot version onto the emmc but for some reason when using this version on the emmc it no longer reconizes the SD reader (im guessing because the os should be on here instead?)
Its been a fun little board so far, i dig all of the different OS files, havnt tried em all yet but its cool they are available
