PinePhone Pro arrived today, and I was happily surprised to see it came with an included nano sim adapter and glass (?) screen protector. Having previously only owned a Braveheart I had expected to be on my own for any "add-ons". Otherwise still the just about the same packaging.
Played with the installed AOSP 9 until I realized it was without gps. Didn't check cellular, but that may also be isolated from the factory installed AOSP.
Nuked factory AOSP as directed in https://wiki.pine64.org/wiki/PinePhone_P...stallation
"The phone will freeze and then the screen will go blank", I expected the screen to actually blank, instead the apps disappeared and the status bar time froze but the screen remained on with wallpaper displayed. 10 minutes later rebooted into Arch. Greeted with what seemed like a much longer and stronger vibration than the PP.
15W charging is a major upgrade and the battery is 3000mAh which is an improvement over Braveheart's 2800mAh.
Everything runs super smooth and responsively. However, having tried Arch, pmOS, and Mobian, only Mobian was able to power on and connect the EG25. Seems like there may be a bad config in Arch, didn't dig into pmOS.
Sms and phone calls work on Verizon (although without audio), and with the added hardware improvements the PPP is well worth it. If the PP was just barely useable as a DD, the PPP will be very useable as a DD once call audio is worked out.

I’ve noticed a lot of products are out of stock, is there a update or anyway to learn when they will be in stock again?
Wish their was better communication on this, I personally have been waiting for the pinebook for about 6 months now. I’m beginning to assume it may be discontinued.
Any information is appreciated.

can't seem to get cellular service on Arch. I tried `systemctl restart eg25-manager` as I recall that helping out on the original pinephone when the modem wasn't recognized but watching the status of the eg25-manager.service it just keeps repeating `Rescheduling upload since modem isn't online yet, in 30s`.
Tried Arch with no success. Also tried pmOS same results, no cellular and no option to toggle cellular on and off in Phosh settings. EG25 definitely gets warm, but no cellular connection. First thing I checked was the dip switches, and they're in the enabled position so that's not it.
Code: mmcli -m any --command='AT+QNWINFO'
returns "error: couldn't find modem"
Nov 29 00:00:25 danctnix eg25manager[4005]: unable to find a suitable config file!

After purchasing the UBports Pinephone, I used it for a year -- mostly as my primary phone! I got a chance to try just about every linux mobile OS out there, file bug reports, and watch things as they developed in real time. I'm not a developer, I'm an end user and I'm afraid my assistance was minimal.
Finally had to bite the bullet and get an android phone, on which I've loaded LineageOS.
I just needed something more reliable.
But I want to thank the community for the fun and the support and the devs for the work they're putting in. You guys are awesome.
I'll check back in a year or so and see how Pinephone is getting along. I hope you guys win everything!

| Explorer vs Dev edition - flashing? |

The instructions at https://wiki.pine64.org/wiki/PinePhone_P...stallation say "Please note that the following instructions do not apply to Explorer Edition".
My box says "Explorer Edition" but the phone has AOSP installed. Is it reasonable to follow the instruction for the Dev edition to get an alternative to AOSP booted? there doesn't seem to be an "Explorer" wiki page yet.
Update: based on Discord, it sounds like the "Dev" edition may have shipped in "Explorer Edition" boxes
