  Zwave Board: 300, 400 or 500?
Posted by: Lugor - 01-03-2017, 11:28 AM - Forum: POT modules - Replies (4)

I am a bit confused on what ZWave board I got from Pine...

According to their store page this is a 400 series board (Pine Store), I can not find any information on a 400 series board other then it's a SoC, and implies that it's equivalent to a 300 series.

However on the board it says ZM5304 (which shows up in the picture on the store page).  According to the Brochure is a Gen5 chip...

Anyone have more detailed information?  My main concerns for this question is range and using it with secure devices such as door locks.  Thx!

Exclamation HDMI 1024 x 600
Posted by: mus1c - 01-03-2017, 08:59 AM - Forum: HDMI Port - Replies (4)

I have a HDMI display that is 1024x600 that I want to use on the pine64+ 2GB system running Debian 20160701. I tried Longsleep's tool sunxi-disp-tool but as far as I know it does not support it. Any ideas on how I can do this?
Thanks,
Mus1c

Thumbs Up Kids love to Play Super Why App
Posted by: Erica Edwards - 01-03-2017, 03:28 AM - Forum: Android on Pine A64(+) - Replies (3)

Seriously, technology has made learning anything extremely easy for kids and that is what this great App tells you. In this modern era of technology, you will find kids holding different latest gadgets and playing various games on them. Although it is good that your children stay busy in playing various games on gadgets, but if the games fail to teach them something productive then playing them is useless for kids.
And here comes this highly exciting and productive game for children called “SUPER WHY”. It is also known as the mobile App which really benefits children academically and improves their learning ability. As you dig out so you will find that this App consists of 4 mini-games developed to improve reading, rhyming, letters, and spelling abilities of kids.
Not only kids are the biggest fan of this ideal App, in fact, you will also witness online writers who offer UK assignment help are also the biggest fan of this exciting App. And it really reveals the popularity of this specific App all across the world.  If you struggle with reading, spelling or rhyming, so make sure you leverage it and playing it is also not difficult.

  Thoughts on eoma-68 compatability?
Posted by: traverseda - 01-02-2017, 09:39 PM - Forum: General Discussion on PINE A64(+) - Replies (4)

eoma68 is a specification for connecting boards to cases.

You can see a crowdfunding campaign here.

Frankly, the pinebook looks a lot better then what they've got. I'd love to see it be compatible with that specification.

Hi,

It is 21st century. Please make the forum and other pages be run over secure HTTPS. It is easy to intercept passwords and email addresses quiet easily otherwise by hostile parties or run untrusted javascript and change user links to various binaries and iso images to point to various malware binaries, etc.

Thanks.

  QT5 on Pine64
Posted by: rickseiden - 01-01-2017, 01:11 PM - Forum: Linux on Pine A64(+) - Replies (4)

I have an xprotolab plain o-scope.  The software for it is written in QT, which means that, in theory, I should be able to get it running on the Pine64.

My only problem is that I have QT4 by default, and need QT5.

How do I go about installing QT5 and telling the system to use QT5 instead of QT4?  I've searched online, and all it's done is confuse me.

Once QT5 is installed, I think it's just a matter of running cmake to make the software.

Thanks in advance!
RIck

  Custom boot animations
Posted by: Bluphire - 12-30-2016, 11:18 AM - Forum: Android on Pine A64(+) - Replies (4)

Is it possible to change the boot animations in any of the currently released Android images? I used to change them on my phone's years ago after rooting, just wondering if it can be done on these builds.

  BROM / Boot0 - Limitations
Posted by: Flint - 12-30-2016, 08:42 AM - Forum: Pine A64 Hardware, Accessories and POT - Replies (6)

Hi guys, just received my Pines here some days ago (3 Pine64+ 2Gb models) and just started to play with.

I can load a Longsleep linux, and even some hand crafted 64Bits uboot with EFI from mainline, however, I've several questions regarding low-level and hardware related code.

From what I read here and there, at the initialization, the BROM is calling the boot0 binary which seems to be a closed source SPL program.

Could you explain me which limitations do you see about this unsourced boot0 SPL?

I'm thinking about reversing it but it would be something a little bit time consuming so I would love to have examples of really usefull features that could be implemented (on U-Boot/Linux for examples) without these limitations.

LCD touch panel emits low power
Posted by: Naccies - 12-30-2016, 03:16 AM - Forum: LCD and Touch Panel - Replies (4)

I think that my LCD Touch Panel is defective (I hope I'm wrong).

First of all I've to say that I owe 2 Micro SD cards. The first one has the "Lollipop Beta 2 (LCD Version)", and the second one has the "Lollipop Beta 2 (HDMI Version)" both downloaded from the website.

Here is an image that shows how my LCD Touch Panel is connected to the board. (My mobile camera is ashame).

As you can see it's all correctly connected with all the pins down... The thing is that I've tried both HDMI Img (on my living room TV) and LCD Img on my LCD Touch Panel. Here i'll show u the results.

HDMI (living room TV):

LCD Touch Panel:

As you can see the image works in both screens, but the LCD one can barely be read. I can assure you that i got to the "desktop" on both applications and that the Touch Panel works (I know it isn't connected in the posted screens, but I did test it before), but I don't get why it emits that low brightness (I've turned the Android brightness to max already and it's not that).

I would appreciate any advice, cause I don't know if I am doing anything wrong.
