Minor case damage with gentle use. (Is anyone else seeing this?)

Same with dust Blush

I think it has something to do with the way I grab my Pbp with one hand from the side.
All the pressure is on that little part.
Being left-handed must explain that it's that side that's damaged.

as a hammer ?  Big Grin Don't know what are you doing with your PBPs mine is like a new but I'm very careful with it does't even have a scratch ... oh I miss a screw from the factory (btw still waiting someone from the PBP team to contact me - it takes some time to get the information about a simple screw I guess) Big Grin if we don't count that and the random reboots and  freezes as well the lack of any really useful software (Cura Thunderbird OpenSCAD and more) or games (HL CS RTCW JD-Academy Doom3 Diablo 2 and much more running on the rpi4 (which is a lot less powerful) I think all will agree its better to pay a bit more for a quality build (oh and 64gb emmc .. even 128 is not enough but its still better and the emmc adapter with price 6 usd and shipping 11 !? still waiting for mine to be shipper purchase it around a week ago) anyway I knew it will be bad purchase overall its second gen product but I wanted to support pine64 that's why I get it no one else build arm laptop on good price.. if we don't count qualcom snapdragon machines but they play in another league (price performance - better put your money on intel or amd machine)
No really give the people the chance to choose between 64 and 128 gb emmc when they make a purchase, if I get 128 gb emmc now what should I do with the 64 !? Isn't that stupid..  Dodgy Yes I know I can get 500 gb nvme for around 80 do 100 USD and forget it but .. why ..
In conclusion there are a lot of stuff that are really bad in the product (not even mention the speakers) but its second gen and I will get it again if I need to
Support the people is important  Angel
(hope next gen will be better build with descent speakers a bit better cam maybe and price around 300 that will be the perfect machine oh and real 64 bit stock OS)

I never dropped the laptop or anything - only opened and closed the lid.  Anyone else with this issue?

Yes I had the same on the other side, reported to support. They asked me if this had been caused by the shipping. As far as I know very reasonable handling, and I havent opened up the case at all.

Any idea what kind of glue I can use to repair these two cracks without damaging the case material?

A new crack appears! This part of the plastic feels to have provided some structure to the palm rest now when typing the laptop base will flex.

AngryI am having a crack party on my PBP...I have a crack around the power barrel in port, both slim parts around my usb ports have broken off! I also have cracks on the front of the PBP on the thin metal band around the top left and right screws! I might be missing spacers in the front, because the bottom panel sticks in a little bit...I hope Pine64 sells a fix-it kit soon, because my PBP has only seen gentle use! I love it, but it is falling apart on me! To be fair, I have taken it apart a few times...but really, this type of cracking is not acceptable in my eyes! At this rate it kind of feels like it is going to completely fall apart! I hope somebody at pine64 sees this and fixes this problem in future batches!!! I am going to try to Loctite the inside of my PBP later and see if that holds the cracks together.
EDIT: My fault! I didn't put the spacers where I should've...I guess I'll just have to live with the cracks. Live and learn...

The hinges on my PBP just fell apart. I think it was like this from receiving, because the screen always rubbed/hit the body when i'd open the lid.  My guess is one of them broke, then the rest couldn't hold up with one of them broken.  Not until now when I inspected more closely I noticed this. You can also see the same cracks around USB ports people are having too.  https://imgur.com/a/dVzYMZM

I don't think its fixable either. these hinges need a tight hold.
