Network issues, possibly not booting? [Solved]

I've been working on a new project and am comparing all of the SBCs I have in my collection to figure out which is best for this project.

Among them is my Pine 64 (2GB) which I got from backing the kickstarter (A year ago now?)

I've never actually used it until now. I've written an SD card using the etcher tool Pine provide (Ubuntu Minimal) and it seems to power up but the network indicators turn on for about a second and then off again. 

The network cable I'm certain works as I took it out of another computer I was using yesterday.

I was just wondering if there's any tips?

Which image did you use? Usually GbE works fine since the fix applied in December... what power supply are you using? Can you pastebin the output from 'dmesg' after plugging in the cable?

I used the Ubuntu Minimal image written using the Pine variation of etcher downloaded from the UK Server. Written today.

I'm using an anker powerbank. As for dmesg I don't have to hand HDMI cables and adaptors for my monitors as I usually use headless.

Oops! Seems it was working. Usually one of the two lights on a network port stay on constant and I couldn't find it on the network as the mac it seems to be using is different to the sticker on the bottom.

Do you have a serial adapter to look at the console? Any USB-serial dongle with 3.3V levels will do...

Edit: I should read all of the post..., afaik all MAC are generated based on the unique device ID on the newer images since the preprogramming of the MACs on the sticker only works for the factory Android images. You can set the MAC manually  via uEnv.txt though...
