I've hooked up my 1gb 64 board to my Tv through a three way HDMI adapter and an Android OS card. When it boots I either get an "out of range" error from the TV or I get a huge grey image of an analogue clock. Any ideas?
As Ghost wrote ^ try without the adapter.
However, out of range usually refers to an unsupported resolution. What resolution is your TV ? also, there could - potentially - be a problem with 60 v 50hz.

Yes, with much the same effect :/
Unfortunately it is a relatively old to without the option for setting video resolutions :/
So 2 things.
1) could you please try the TV64 image ?
2) The manufacturer states that the native resolution is 1024x1080 (which I something I haven't seen before) - but claims that the tv supports 720p / 60hz. That said, since the resolution is non-standard I will make an educated guess that there is some internal scaler of some sort which may not play nice with the pine64
