No I have run opensuse. Didn't see same problems although I used openSUSE-Tumbleweed-ARM-PHOSH-pinephone.aarch64-2020.10.25-Build5.1.raw
Many thanks for your feedback.
Unfortunately I was not able to find this image, it looks like all older versions have been deleted and the current IMHO is bullshit.

Hello @Alefnode ,

Does this image currently support being installed on the internal memory on the 32GB version of the pinephone?

I got it working earlier but for example the 2020.11.14 image would not but from the internal storage.

Greetings,

Kees

I added this to p-boot and notified @megous. If booting from eMMC works and the image doesn't grow too big, it might be added to the next multi-boot image.

Finally I'll be able to test this, my PinePhone is arriving in two days!
The thing I am really excited about is how OBS can make porting to arm64 easier, sometimes it is literally just enabling the build target.

I have a couple question about this port, though:

-Which software components are non-FOSS?
-Is YaST included (or at least the software management tools)?
-How is the battery life doing right now?

For the first question, all software components arre FOSS, then you can install everything with "zypper install" or whatever command you use with opensuse OS, Yast2 gui are not well adapted for mobile UI so it disabled by default, you can install it and test it if you want.

Battery life i think is worst part for now, maybe 1 working day without using it a lot, maybe 5-6 hours using it continuosly.
Sorry about the delay replying, I have been fighting my ISP the last two months...
5 h of use seems on par with iPhones Tongue

Already tested like 4-5 distros and openSUSE has given me the best experience so far, but I am left with a question and two issues:

-Is the 60 fps patch applied yet? It does not seem like (or it could be the PinePhone being what it is)

-I can't send SMS to anyone (Chatty), I keep getting that +5068888 is not a valid number (tried with spaces and no regional prefix, no success). I replicated this while installed on the eMMC and the SD card.
If I send an SMS to the PinePhone through another phone I can reply with no problems, the issue is with starting new conversations.

-When going to the devices section on Files or when opening whatever prompt that invokes files a constant mmblk notifications spams half of the screen (it's installed on the eMMC) and a ROOT partition constantly pops out and back in (or it seems like). I have no idea what this could be.

I think I may take a look at packaging some stuff for Plasma Mobile, priorities would be the Plasma Mobile config files, Neochat and basic IM apps (particularly Spacebar). I'm really new to OBS and so far only packaged one program, but I believe it is not that complicated once I get to know how to use some (definitely undocumented or underdocumented) macros. However, if this is going to happen, we should coordinate to avoid duplicating efforts.
