What am I doing wrong with Geary ?

I have been trying to get Geary going with various email accounts (gmail & yahoo) and no matter what I do, I get the message
"Account not created: Check your email address and password"
which are correct, I have tried repeatedly to no avail.

I have looked at forum posts here and not seen anything that seems relevant.  Geary seems to work for everyone else ?

Quite certain that I am doing something dumb, but just not seeing it, any advice ?

Go to Settings/Online Account and register your Gmail/Mail. After that start Geary up and you'll see your inbox.

Boom, that did it !

So the mistake was trying to use the Geary frontend to register the account.
