Throwing myself into the conversation. Running the latest Android image, no Ethernet on 2GB with Gig ethernet. My network is CAT6 running through Gig ethernet switches all connected to a Microtik router. Only the Pine64 has issues. As a side note the latest Arch image has the same problem.
Same here on all counts (although my router is an ASUS). Everything works fine (I have 12 units connected on wired network working flawlessly) but the Pine.

Not tried Arch, but ubuntu worked perfectly fine.
It really seems to me there are pine64+ working just perfect out of the box, some just beeing able to do 100mbits only.
Maybe they used different batches for the ethernet, i hope they at least checked them....

Still a linux newbie with several EEE-PCs, PI's, LattePanda and some Desktops/Laptops running Win10. Now also proudly using Pine64+ 2GB and gigabit LAN
Funnily enough, the Pine gets an IP, but it's not connecting properly. It's showing in my router now though, but I'm still not able to connect to the internet (TIMEOUT etc). I'll upload some screenies later today.
I just remembered that I had a spare cisco switch lying around, with which I can control network speeds. I set the max to 100mbps, and I got online! This is pretty hilarious imo - I bought the card specifically for gbps (and 2gb ram), and to use the card I have to downgrade my network to 100mbps -_-

So I have a 2gb unit and did not get the Wi-Fi card initially. I was a little frustrated when my android install could access the internet. After reading here I decided to use an old cable and disable the second pair to effectively force 10/100. But before I swapped the cable I checked one last time for ip info and it was working, now it's installing apps like nothing was ever wrong and I didn't have to change it to 10/100.... Go figure, don't know what fixed it as it wasn't connected to do updates. Suppose I won'don't So I have a 2gb unit and did not get the Wi-Fi card initially. Suppose I won't know, at least for now hopefully when the team has time to work on the release or someone in the community figures out why the gigabit Ethernet is acting weird in the android install they will let us know. It will be moot once my Wi-Fi card, battery, case, and touch screen are ordered, but then it will be mobile and won't often use the Ethernet, until I get a few more units of course! My next plan is to give my scarecrow of a t.v.a brain.
Getting gigabit OK to my WRT1200AC, just in case that helps anyone. It's wired directly. I'm going to also try going through my dlink green 5 port gige switch

I have my Pine64+ connected to a Netgear GS108 ProSAFE 8-Port Gigabit Switch and it works GREAT! I am initial booting the new rootable build now... Very excited to be able to move around some data off my phone with Titanium Backup!
