Android and Ethernet - W1SPY - 03-30-2016
I successfully installed Android on my Pine64 (2gb) with a 32gb Sd card. My usb wifi module doesn't seem to be recognized, so i tried using the ethernet port with no luck i know my Computer is setup properly to share internet (Raspi) i just can't seem to get it going, any suggestions?
RE: Android and Ethernet - arpanj2 - 03-30-2016
a lot of Android apps dont recognize Ethernet - what are you using? I was able to access Playstore, Chrome, etc via Ethernet.

The first thing I had tried was the Play Store, no luck, tried Chrome, looked into my settings no LAN being seen(ethernet is plugged in and lights are flashing)
Android 5.1.1

2gb pine64+ here... ethernet flashes and shows activity, but android doesn't seem to recognize it. Guess I should've bought the wifi dongle.

Please advise on the network configuration, I like to know why your board Ethernet doesn't been recognize. Try unplug and plug in Ethernet cable again and check whether this help the connection.

I share my internet, works with everything else, except for the Pine, both lights show up...orange and blinking green, but no internet is recognized.

If no Internet connection, this implies that Pine A64 board doesn't get IP address assignment. Try to unplug and plug in teh Ethernet cable and check whether able to get IP address assigned.
RE: Android and Ethernet - mlamie - 04-03-2016
I do have the same experience. The first boot with the network cable connected didn’t work, after the PINE 64A logo I had a white screen for more then 15 min. Without the network cable the first boot did work (After the PINE 64A logo, the desktop of android came), and all reboots after the first boot it starts correctly with the cable attached.
The big issue now: Android doesn't work correctly with the Ethernet connection. The IP assignment is done (see screenshot). A soon I will open the browser I can see the webpage logo or header filled with the webpage name, but no way the page will load completely. The Google Play store, which tries to connect with the Internet will report a timeout message.
Can someone point us in the right direction? Where to search to get more logging?

I installed OS Monitor to check the log of Android (via USB stick with a apk file), I filtered the log messages (see log file).

RE: Android and Ethernet - mhump711 - 04-03-2016
I am having the same issue. I have an ip address and Google Chrome will even goto an address but 90% of the content won't load. Its like being dial up. But not upset and can't wait for the fix.
RE: Android and Ethernet - mlamie - 04-04-2016
I see a similar complains in the various threats. They say there is an issue with the 2 GB board, which is not recognized correctly...
Is there a way to update drivers in Android and do some re-testing? Can we ask user:longsleep to have a look? He did a fixed on the Arch Linux image.

Can the Pine team help?
