Yes - those who upgraded prior to the 17th will see their DHL shipping notifications in the next 48-72hrs.

Fun with DHL... my Pinebook Pro was dispatched to Norway on May 15, arrived in Oslo on the morning of May 17 and was then mistakenly redirected to Osaka in Japan (!) instead of being transported to Trondheim. Now it's back in Hong Kong and I hope it will find its way this time around.

I was afraid that Norwegian customs had some issues with the imported notebook (I think there were problems importing the first batch of Pinephones to Germany due to a missing CE sign?), but DHL support thinks this is not the case. Let's hope they are right.

Is there any experience with a refund of shipping fees from DHL? This  is certainly not express delivery (unless you count the useless kilometers traveling halfway around the world and back to Hong Kong in five days...) and unacceptable. Of course, I know the good people at Pine64 can't influence things like these, but I think a complaint to DHL is appropriate here.

Btw., are there any other Pinebook Pro users in Norway? If so, did you receive your device already?

So I got my PBP last night, though I didn't know it until this morning. According to my security system a vehicle entered and left my driveway at 10:30pm local time, we were already in bed by then so didn't notice. I got up this morning and saw the yellow rectangle on the porch and immediately knew what it was. Oddly enough, DHL tracking still shows estimated delivery for Monday.

So, first impressions. Hardware: everything seems great except just a tiny bit of looseness around the webcam; the bezel is just loose enough to make a sound when I tap it. The touchpad is definitely bugging me; I had no issues removing the infamous film, but if I haven't touched the pad for a few seconds and I go to touch it, the cursor will randomly jump to the top or bottom of the screen. It will also do so randomly while moving around. I'm not as impressed with the keyboard as others have been; the one on my ultra-cheap Dell 3160 netbook is far superior. It's not bad, it's just not great either.

Software: Good old Manjaro KDE! After updating packages and rebooting, the battery tray icon is gone. I'll look into that later as I am definitely curious about how much battery life I get out of this thing. It's not quite as snappy as Manjaro KDE on a full fat AMD64 desktop, but that's expected and it's actually pretty damn fast compared to my Raspberry Pi 4 with its customized LXDE. I'm definitely going to experiment with other supported releases before I start hacking around with Slackware; it will be interesting to see if anything outperforms the default OS with all of its hardware specific tweaks.

Thanks to @Luke and the rest of the Pine team for making this happen despite the unavoidable delays! For those in the thread who are worried about build quality, I can honestly say it has exceeded my expectations so please don't give up hope that you'll receive a good unit. I have notoriously bad luck with purchases sight unseen, and I was taking a big risk with this one (there is no used market for these devices that I can find so I knew buying it would mean keeping it forever). I'm excited to get going with this thing and hopefully replace my Dell as my go-to portable in the near future.

Thanks for the review and first impressions. The jumping mouse sounds very annoying.

I am truly sorry for cluttering up this place of the inappropriate Fedex shipment question, and will directly contact the sales team from now on about this matter - if it helps.
can you please clarify that  ?
why is it inappropriate to ask what happens to the Fedex
shipping which cannot be converted to DHL  ?

All the battery operated device needs to be ship out from Hong Kong instead from China, this due to China Post don't accept large battery operated device shipment (PineTime is OK due to small battery but recently also suspend due to flight availability.
The Hong Kong government block their border since February 7, this suppose was three months blockage and resume on June 7. However, on early June, the HK government extend one more month blockage to July 7 and I keep my finger cross that they don't extend further more.
At currently time, due to cross border blockage, shipping team manage to setup bulk shipment arrangement from factory to shipping warehouse with DHL and Asendia. This is a quite complicated process due to involve on custom paperwork and logistic arrangement. The shipping team still explore whether able to get such bulk arrangement with FedEx. In the meantime, shipping team also explore on convert the original FedEx arrangement shipment to DHL.
However, such issue will be resolved once Hong Kong open up their border and shipping team can travel to Hong Kong warehouse to ship out the shipment in Hong Kong locally. This can only happen after July 7 and assume Hong Kong government not extend the border blockage again.
The pandemic situation has create TON of shipment issue, shipping team try their best to dispatch the shipment but there are too many factors not within our control.
I'm considering doing the DHL upgrade but the images on the upgrade page in the store indicate the order number should start with #13. The order number I got with my conformation email starts with #12, can I still do the DHL upgrade?
