I also am not able to login.  Though the forum accepts my username and password without issue.

Hope I haven't missed out on the pre-order due to someone's crappy coding error!  ;(

This is my guess as well.  I've alerted them via twitter, and they have acknowledged receipt of the message.

Now I'm in the pre-order queue. My password manager filed out the login credentials for me and the whole process was painless. What's next is not clear:

Let's assume for the sake of discussion that I registered first. Will coupon codes send out in order of registration?

What if I get the coupon code deep in the night of my time-zone ... and I can only order a few hours later. Could it be that folks registered after me "overtake" me in the  process and the 1100 laptops are already given away once I try to order.
