So for anyone interested, here is an rc1 (i'm hoping to have rc2 this next week, out of town right now) of Arch with XFCE, LightDM, and most things working correct.

I downloaded archlinux-xfce-pinebook-20171225-1.img, came to the login screen, but when I try to login with either alarm/alarm root/root, I get trown back at the same login screen. Well, let me try some more ;-)

Yes, you need to select XFCE as DE from the drop-down on login :

Followed the steps on https://github.com/anarsoul/linux-build/...g/20171225 and after 13. indeed sound stopped crashing the whole pinebook ;
Nice! I like it, it run pretty smooth so far. Fiddling for the first time with ArchLinux : And wow a big leap to a newer kernel no? Don't have a clear view on what it all brings though, anything that I can read anywhere?-)

anarsoul and Xalius said that running this build of off eMMC is currently not possible.
Arch linux xfce not bootable on Pinebook. On Git all three images are the same size (832 mb)!?!
