Rock64 Debian 11 (Bullseye) install problem

For all of you who struggle to install Debian onto your Rock64, I've made a how to guide for this.
A pdf for downloading and safe keeping / later use is in that repo as well.

@ju0n this is a revised version which just uses the images and u-boot directly from Debian.

Are we saying, then, the posted instructions have a major flaw?

I would not say major flaw, but software matures and evolves over time. ;-)
And using the Debian Installer is the most efficient way right now, even though it can't install u-boot for some reason.

I think there was some intention to point this out on the wiki:

"Remember to leave some space before your first partition for u-boot! You can do this by creating a 32M size unused partition at the start of the device."

But it's unclear when or how to do that, simply performing manual partitioning in the (bookworm) installer, and leaving the initial fat partition alone is enough for the debian installer to work as expected. When I can figure out how to reset my wiki password I'll try to tweak that assuming no one else does first.
