Powering Pinecil using an Artis 65W laptop adapter

Hi

I recently got a Pinecil. I was wondering if I can use the Artis 65W USB-C laptop charger to power it. The adapter specs is as follows-

The 65W charger is able to provide 3.25A @ 20V which seems to be same as the PinePower 120W Desktop Power Supply USB-C output. The manufacture has mentioned that it could be a little too much power for the Pinecil.

Why would it be too much power?
I assume it is a PD-capable charger, so Pinecil can request 20V and it is able to provide up to 3.25A for Pinecil - generally it should be a perfect fit.

Anyway, 45W charger should be too low to fully utilize Pinecil, as far as I know, its full power consumption is around 60W at 20V.
(For 60W power at 20V, it would need 60W/20V=3A of current.)

Also, basically a power supply can supply a voltage (like 20V) and up to a specified current (A).
So looking at this perspective, the higher current is better and it should work together with Pinecil if it can supply at least that amount of current (or above) what Pinecil need.

So, do not buy a 45W charger for Pinecil.

In this case, actual power (W) comes from voltage (V) multiplied by current (A) and current depends on the device connected and not on the power supply itself (if it is capable of delivering the needed value).

It should be either a QC or PD-capable charger and both should be okay for Pinecil.
For QC, my Baseus chargers needed a timeout setting for PD negotiation timeout which is part of the latest firmware update but it works well by setting this timeout to 15.

As of QC protocol, there are a very few chargers which support 20V over QC (although I have such a charger, so it exists).
However, Type-C capable notebooks work over PD protocol, so if this charger really supports "5V/2.4A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, 18V/3A,20V/2.25A, and 20V/3.25A, Max Power Output: 65Watts" as they state, it should be a PD-capable charger (power supply).

However, I am not surprised at anything since I saw there are "notebook chargers" which have 12V output over Type-C connector without any negotiation (they should not exists anyway).

As of seller replies who has recommended a 45W or 30W charger for something which would need 20V * 3A = 60W, I would not think to know too much information about the product to be sold...

If it is either a QC or PD power supply, it should work... but based on the supported voltages, technically it should be one of them (definitively PD for notebooks).
However, it is another question if the power supply is really can provide 65W power output...
