I think there's still the customs lottery to clear but you never know.
It appears they get around that, for US recipients at least, by marking the package as a "gift".

I did not notice this, but my Pinephone package had a signature required. Unfortunately I was not home when it was being delivered so I have to wait until tomorrow to pick it up.
My phone finally was scheduled to be delivered today, Since the Postman usually comes at noon I was out there waiting at 11:30 am.

After spending over a week in New York, apparently it took a day and a half to get across the country...
My mailman was pickier, and did not leave my phone when we had to go out of town for higher priority family trip a few hours earlier. I did get an email later to which I could respond with choice of 2nd chance by picking up at local post office, so I did that today, and have been playing around with UBports on it - not too impressed with its unfinished state, but am impressed by the overall hardware quality and performance, so that is something to work with.
Keeping the Android as the daily driver for some time to come while playing/testing this new toy I think...
