It's not a static image. It's a video stream consisting of a long series of frames of the same image, and the video codec isn't smart enough to recognize that. Depending on the player size, you were still playing back 1080p video for, I guess, a long time. At 80F ambient, and, unlike the big Nvidia cards, the Pinebook doesn't have a fan.
Workaround is to install youtube-dl, grab your choice of the audio-only formats (150 or 251), and play it back with an efficient audio file player, not Firefox.
youtube-dl takes an inordinate amount of time to , well, do anything. Like 5-10 minutes. any suggestions? It does work, but spends most of its time doing nothing. I use it on other machines, and there's no lag at all. it's not like its doing anything, htop shows nothing, and iotop shows nothing. Again, it does work, just exceedingly slowly.
