Both use the same 3.10.65 BSP kernel that longsleep compiled and maintains. The difference is that he is using Ubuntu 16.04 rootfs while I am devoted to the Debian 8 Jessie rootfs. I have also set up 3 different desktop environment images (Mate, XFCE, LXDE) and also the base without Desktop Environment
.
Both Longsleep's and mine udpate from longsleep's kernel build (includes the same scripts pine64_update_uboot.sh, pine64_update_kernel.sh, resize_rootfs.sh).
For those who want more bleeding edge go with Ubuntu and Debian is just rock solid in terms of stability but the apps will nto be the most recent versions
