I've set static IP addresses on my modules but I don't get any outside access. I see the yellow LEDs flickering indicating that I do have something incoming...
It is a dumb switch. Best thing to do would be to let them pull down DHCP and check the DHCP server for what addresses have been assigned. Those will have MAC addresses associated with them and you can use those to set up your DHCP server to assign static addresses.
