I guess that OS-Image used by you is probably below

There are cases of bugs related to a specific version,
so you can not get a useful answer unless you write it accurately.
The same is true for HDMI-Monitor
In my case,
the sound is coming from the HDMI-Monitor using "bionic-lxde-rock64-0.7.9-1067-arm64.img.xz" (above url)
My HDMI-Monitor is a cheap standard Full-HD(1980 x 1080) which is not sold now.

Aloha T4-4T,
Thanks for the information. It seems this release ""bionic-lxde-rock64-0.7.9-1067-arm64.img.xz"" HDMI sound works for you4 HDMI-monitor. My HDMI-monitor works with other Linux releases, just not this one. I will try the "bionic-lxde-rock64-0.7.9-1067-arm64.img.xz" release to see if that works. Keep you posted!
It's just puzzling or dis-hearting to install an OS and a basic feature (sound/audio) doesn't work. I just wanted to hear from another ROCK64 customer who installed this Linux OS and say "I have no problem with audio" when I installed this "bionic-lxde-rock64-0.7.9-1067-arm64.img.xz" OS.
Again, Aloha and Mahalo,
Pajaro
