I would like to ask you if you could post here the conclusion of the request regardless of the result. People should know what to expect from the Android support. I already pre-ordered the Pin64 and I also bought some other boards only to realize, that 99% of them are not able to provide any 4:3 or 16:10 resolutions under Android and that the support for them will not be ever added. At least Odroid should supports 1280x800 and some lower S(VGA) modes and Pcduino should also support some more resolution modes.
I know that adding broader support for 4:3/16:10 resolutions modes over HDMI will nit be easy, since it will involve adapting or developing of the display drivers. But I still hope that Pine will make difference, at least since it removed the initially planned support for LVDS. But in any case let us know how is the status.
Lets be clear, we decided on MiPi interface instead of LVDS even on design stage, this decision due to most modern LCD panel using MiPi interface. There is no initial plan for support LVDS.
On the 4:3 resolution, it is already on the to-do list. Due to 4:3 is not prefer format on HDMI output, there may be other issue to consider such as whether the HDMI-VGA adapter able to sync properly.
