no sound over HDMI

Have you tried starting/restarting pulseaudio yet from terminal?
Launch Terminal
- Run pulseaudio -k (it restarts pulseaudio)
- Ubuntu will attempt to restart the daemon automatically assuming there are no problems with the configuration. You can run pulseaudio --check to check that pulseaudio is running. If it's not running you can start the daemon using the pulseaudio --start
