RockPro64 Case 2x3.5" HDDs and 2x2.5 HDDs
#11
Hi Guys, does the case fit the 20mm or 30mm heat sink, with or without fan on top of it? Also, is there a way to have 4 HDD/SSD since the PCI-e to dual sata controller supports only 2? Thanks.

so some thoughts on this. an alternate case top that has mounting for the touchscreen. the touchscreen would mount on top of the hdd frame and the case top would have a hole to let it be exposed.

Agreed that would be pretty cool. Although, I'd prefer a much smaller screen for htop or similar rather than the 7" screen (if that would even fit?)

For the 80mm fan in the back, would you need a PWM fan?

For example:

versus:

I am not sure if they have different connectors? And can a PWM fan still work (at fixed speed?) if there's no support in software (yet)?

Hi,

Well my Rockpro case and accessories arrived today!!!

It is incredibly well made, could survive a truck driving over it.

It is well finished and my Rockpro board fits in it exactly, the cutouts are just right in the correct places.

Very good design.

However all I am waiting for is a reliable Linux operating system  to work with it,  or perhaps as I keep saying, a reliable board to run the operating system on.

I have posted a new  thread in hardware about the flakeness of the module.

cheers

Here's some photos of my build of the RockPro64 in the case Smile

I've a case fan, it has a 4-pin connector though, so I am still have to see how I can connect this to the rockpro64 board...

So I did not add the fan into the case yet, but how it is now, it will only just fit! Wink

Hi Luke,

The ROCKPro64 case looks great and glad to see it is now available in the store. I think it will suit my needs quite nicely as a Docker host for backups and other projects!

One thing I think would be really useful for more hardware inexperienced people like myself is if there was a "shopping list" somewhere, here or in the store, so I would know exactly what I need to buy to get it all going. Either a list of links to each item needed (or if you have input into the shop have a "starter-kit" listed).

I think the shopping list could assume that the user has the HDs as Pine64 does not sell those but links to everything else that you need to buy to get this going by scratch would be super useful so I don't buy the wrong things or miss buying things that are important.

Cheers!  Smile

Could you figure out sth regarding pwm fans? I will check the schematic later, it mighr be possible to use the pwm for the case fan.

Regarding the fan size, OP says it's a 120mm fan but the drawings point to a 80mm one. Could you be more specific in that aspect, maybe update product description too?
