Pine 64 IR Receiver not working

I received my Pine 64 a month back, I ordered a remote and IR receiver to go with it as well.
Unfortunately THE REMOTE DOES NOT RESPOND TO THE INPUTS i.e. the IR receiver does not work on my board. I have got no replies from support even on sending requests 5 times. Can someone help me out here?

... however, please read this thread which I posted some time ago regarding the IR receiver... It has some tips and suggestions for making it work. There may be many issues that you are dealing with. If we talk live I can walk you through some diagnostics and troubleshooting.
