After the thread I started regarding this issue, and not much in the way of suggestions to fix, that's the same conclusion I came to. I don't have a Linux machine (or know how to use Linux), so the gparted or other scripts don't do much for me, although sounds like they don't always work anyway.

I have the same error with my 32gb card and the 32gb image. But in my case, the Phoenix card says thas "no script file" and I can't do anything.
Do you mean a script not found error? That is due to trying to burn a dd-type image using PhoenixCard, which will not work.
Please see this thread.

Source.
Yes, that's where it was.
So I might be missing something real simple here, but what is the upgrade process for a rooted image without having to start over with a clean image every time?
That I do not know, unfortunately. I assume that you do need to start over each time.
Thanks, Ghost. My image is it, the one from the main page, 32Gb, like my class 10 card.
Online update (OTA) only work when the build still not root? Clean image? I still not understand. If Phoenix Card can't burn the image (because is not for it) and other softwares, like Rufus and Win32Imager says "no space in your card", what can I do. Which one I need do choose?
Hi at all,
I have partially solved by installing the DD 16 gb version in Sd card 32 gb (SanDisk class 10) and works well. Phoenix is wrong to my pc. Initially it would not connect to the internet via Ethernet but it was (good) with Wifi. After several flares now it's OK to the Ethernet port and am using Netflix even with a Powerline TPLINK. Do you think I can recover unused space of Sd with a partitioning program?
Understood. I will do it. Download again...

It was £99 pounds (UK), a great deal if you ask me, very happy with the box! But.. back on topic

After download, wrote the 16gb image in card and back to my pine. First was one screen with allwinner A64 and Android. After this, one Pine64 logo and one forever blank screen. What can I did wrong this time. Ubuntu booted normally.
Everything working fine on this end.
Also had to revert to the 32GB image in a 64GB SDCard and repartitioning the card doesn't seem to be a workable solution.
I have hit a speed bump with the decision of changing the Camera Module to be the Real Camera and making the USB UVC the Front Camera.
Does anyone know if and how that setup can be changed and the Camera assignments changed?

Will there be an LCD build of this version or just an HDMI one?

Try the second download page... it looks like there is a LCD and HDMI versoin of 5.1.1? Is that what you were after?
They were a bit silly when they made the wiki page, putting some of the download links on the main page, and then sticking a link to a secondary download page down near the bottom, where no-one notices it!

You can compile android from sources for lcd.
Look at the path: lichee/tools/pack/chips/sun50iw1p1
You can find there a lot of configs. For LCD too...
