Is it the strategy of Pine to allow others to create modules for the Pinetab? Or will only Pine offer these?

Great! I'm looking forward to details on how to go about this. Making it open source is indeed the goal.

Is there any more information about how to create custom expansion boards?
Are they currently PCI based? What are the physical dimensions that an expansion board can be? Could a USB stick theoretically fit inside that space? Or would that require a custom back cover?

The expansion board interface is USB 2.0 base. the normal USB stock not able to place inside PineTab due to height limitation (6mm). PineTab has a full type-A USB-2 port and you can plug in your USB stick there.

That doesn't address the physical dimensions question, which should include mounting points. Also electrical and mechanical specs for the connector. CAD models would be helpful.

Great to hear the internal expansion boards are USB 2.0 based. I suspect that will make things easier.
There are new files on the Wiki that go into the electronics, but there are unfortunately no design files with dimensions and such. |
