The Kingwear K88 is not recommended for AsteroidOS applications which uses Bluetooth low energy and WIFI:

The best solution would be for instance a TicWatch Pro with AsteroidOS and to migrate the TicWach Pro user interface to the AsteroidOS. There is already a costom ROM available with a thread of more than 400 pages which descibes this ROM:

An AsteroidOS watch would be an excellent companion with a full Linux distribution for the PinePhone. Developers welcome.

I like the lean approach.
The upmost priority should be battery life.
More capable hardware means higher power demand. Not only because more ram consume more power, but also because the software will have more things to do -  maybe doing useful things, but definitely also the wasteful things (bugs, unhelpful functionality and other flaws).

Just saw that Amazon has some sales on MobvoiUS ticwatch pros. I'm not sure I'm ready to buy one but there are what looks like 3 models under 200 bucks right now. Just for the next couple of hours.
