  Mobian won't boot on convergence package Pinephone
Posted by: Mark53 - 09-02-2020, 05:40 PM - Forum: Mobian on PinePhone - Replies (11)

I'm trying to get Mobian to work on my Pinephone, but can't get it to boot. I flashed the most recent image to an SD card, but when I try to boot, it just gives me a green LED that stays on indefinitely. Through Matrix I found an issue on the Mobian Gitlab that describes exactly the problem I'm having:

Unable to boot Mobian on 3GB "Convergence Edition" Pinephone

Is this an issue specific to the convergence package since it has different hardware than the regular Pinephone?

Please join me online Sep 15 (Wednesday) at the RIOT Summit, and discover why Rust on PineTime is a great way to learn IoT.

Also what's "The New Normal" for IoT Devs? Could it be Simulators + Remote Testing? We'll chat about that too.

  Flash new OS on Pinephone?
Posted by: Potts - 09-02-2020, 04:53 PM - Forum: PinePhone Software - Replies (1)

Obviously a useful feature. I have a micro SD plugged in with Arch flashed on it. How do I install arch?

Never-mind I am a dingus. However I won't delete this in the hopes it may help someone out...

Insert your SD card in the top slot not the bottom!

[EDIT]

It now seems that OS's that I am trying to install are not booting properly. When an image is flashed with etcher and inserted (in the top) card slot, the OS should boot on launch, correct? Currently the screen stays black and a red light appears at the top left hand of the device.

Question WiFi looks to be working, but ...
Posted by: vidarr - 09-02-2020, 04:53 PM - Forum: PostmarketOS on PinePhone - Replies (2)

Just got my PinePhone yesterday.

I went through the setup, configured WiFi, which seemed to connect just fine.  On reboot it doesn't seem to auto-connect, but if I manually click on the SSID I want, it connects up fine.

I checked resolv.conf and checked that the interface got an IP address.  Both look good.  I'll admit, the PostmarketOS is new for me, so maybe I missed a quirk.

Any suggestions on what to look for?  My WAP sees the device.  My device is getting assigned the DHCP assigned IP and DNS settings.  But, I can't seem to connect to anything, even directly by IP.

Any help is appreciated. Huh

  PinePhone Ordered
Posted by: nsk - 09-02-2020, 02:38 PM - Forum: Shipment Related Discussion - Replies (8)

Hello everybody,

Ordered PinePhone convergence edition yesterday. I got an order number but did not receive any other information.

What is the process? How long will it take to reach here to Europe?

Is there any place where we can track the order?

Thanks

  Been getting false notifications for the last few hours.
Posted by: ragreenburg - 09-02-2020, 01:22 PM - Forum: Mobian on PinePhone - Replies (8)

Been using Mobian as my daily driver for today and yesterday but just a few hours ago the LED starting blinking blue as if I had a notification but haven't gotten any. Anyone else experiencing this? I am updating now to see if that helps.

Edit: Updating didn't fix the issue.

  new pinephone received with no battery?
Posted by: senorsmile - 09-02-2020, 01:10 PM - Forum: General Discussion on PinePhone - Replies (4)

I finally got my new 3gb pinephone.
Plugged it into power, installed postmarketos.
Wifi through phosh doesn't seem to be doing anything.

I popped off the back, and there's no battery.
I'm not supposed to have ordered a battery separately, right?

  Online account (google) not working
Posted by: RodMyers - 09-02-2020, 10:12 AM - Forum: General Discussion on PinePhone - No Replies

In attempting to get my google online account working. It's NOT.

I'm doing the following;

Settings → Online Accounts → google

brings up a requester that states;
       sign in with google.
Also says
       sign in to continue to gnome

I attempt to use my google account info, keep getting;
       something went wrong

Why is my gmail/google account info not working?

Why would I need an account on gnome to get to my gmail account?

  cellular connection: status and technical information?
Posted by: pphone-newbie - 09-02-2020, 10:01 AM - Forum: UBPorts on PinePhone - Replies (2)

Hi all,

on my pinephone a data connection was successfully established. However, in my area there are bad LTE reception conditions. It would be interesting to check what the hardware gets out of the poor conditions.
Therefore: Does anyone know a tool to collect (more or less) detailed information about the current connection? Is mmcli usable for UT (I found some discouraging posts regarding this topic - and before I misconfigure/"destroy" the system.....)

Hints would be great!
Thanks a million!
Best
