I know this has been addressed on other threads with different versions of Pine Pine but was wondering about a solution. I have read other threads where it stated about pinching wires but this phone is totally enclosed with no exposed wiring. I had placed a Straight Talk SIM in the phone but didn't seem compatible so I removed it. Not long after that, I started noticing the constant vibration. As it powers on, it will start vibrating even after updating the software, removing and reinstalling the battery, etc. On a side note, I did get the Red Pocket service to work very well using a GSMA SIM from the SIM kit on eBay. Is the phone trying to give me a notification or is it a malfunction? Any suggestions on a remedy?
I have a bunch of test calls in my recent call list that I'd really like to clear out. How to do this? Is there a file somewhere that can be deleted or edited?
RC3 buildworld from clean: 22332 seconds (6h, 12m, 12s)
RC3 kernel from clean: 1794 seconds (29m, 54s)
So as you can see, a normal minor upgrade from src is pretty quick (depending how many changes there are between versions), but a complete build is a bit of a task, but still not bad TBH.
Temperatures:
This is the temperature graph for the buildworld from clean:
The GPU isn't doing anything it just gets hot from conduction.
Max temp seen was 72.6C
Isn't the max operating temp of the die 70C? Does the CPU throttle itself at high temp? If so better cooling should improve performance.
The PineBook Pro seems to have a bit of power compared to the PineTab. I'm wondering how hard it is to "upgrade" the PineTab to something more like the PineBook Pro, but in tablet format. Or maybe just modify the PineBook Pro to be a tablet.
Or maybe Pine64 would be interested in selling a more powerful device? With all the Chromebooks out there, it seems like touchscreen or slate-based Chromebooks are quite common, so it seems like a more powerful device with a touchscreen that can be used in vertical format would be an interesting next step. Any thoughts?
During an update (Plymouth) I chose the package maintainers config and now I get a hideous debian splash screen .
Can anyone point me in the right direction to restoring the mobian boot splash?
Thanks in advance!
Found it at: /usr/share/plymouth/plymouthd.defaults
I have Pinebook Pro and I just succesfully flashed bionic-mate-pinebookpro-0.9.14-1159-armhf on emmc. But when I update system with the Software Updater and restart the PC, after restart it will stop on booting screen and this screen flashes and nothing happens, the system will not load. The system will not load even if I restart it a second time.
Before, I thought it was this error message on picture 1.png, but regardless of whether I chose keep or replace every time it turned out the same.
I made the flash with the same system on flashed sd card, I flashed with balena etcher program and I flashed the system successfully. The same problem occurred when I installed the updates of this system on the sd card, until i did it all worked fine.
Thank you in advance for any answers.
PS: Sorry for my english.
Update!: I tried to flashed older version Ubuntu mate - bionic-mate-pinebookpro-0.8.3-1141-armhf.img.xz stable. But when I do it, the system cannot start and from SD card (0.8.3 version too) either.
When I turn on charged notebook, there are no flashing lights and I don't see anything, but in while I hear ubuntu login screen sound. And nothing else happened and that's all. I feel warm procesor too.
Is anyone else excited for the release of this machine? Personally, I've been waiting quite a while for someone to make a good low cost Linux laptop that can compete with the likes of Chromebooks or ARM based laptops that run Windows, and I think the PineBook Pro from PINE64 will be just the right competitor, and if it turns out to be good, I will buy one to replace my old laptop.
