I just got my Pine phone with 3 gigs 32 gig internal I try putting an SD card in it and it won't recognize it and he will know what's going on?

I have a PmOS CE (V1.2a). The wiki says the update to 'V1.2b' is 'resistor R1318 changed to NC'. Means 'normally closed', like directly close the circuit with solder? This sounds doable? Maybe? Anyone done this themselves? Found R1318 on the schematic, not sure where that relates to in reality though...

Hello.  I've been using my pinephone for a week trying out different operating systems.  Mobian seems like the most stable for now but ubuntu touch seems a lot smoother when it does work.  I'm having one big issue with mobian.  The cellular data is not working.  I can make calls and send texts. 4g seems to be on in the settings.  I'm on at&t in america.  Mobile internet DOES work in ubuntu touch, but phone calls and texting do not.  Does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this?  Please and thank you.

So I got pissed off the microphone on my PBP doesn't seem to work, and started seriously troubleshooting - made sure the levels are fine in alsamixer, looked through pavucontrol... And saw that it shows actual signal levels from the microphone, and they are fine. Closed pavucontrol, open program for recording from mic, still nothing. And then I noticed that if I launch pavucontrol when some program is trying to record something I get no mic levels, but if I first open pavucontrol and see the mic signal levels there and then start recording while pavucontrol is open I actually get sound recorded.

Has anybody seen something like that? Do you have troubleshooting tips for this - I'd like to be able to use microphone without having to open pavucontrol first. I mean, one could say that it can be considered a privacy feature :-D but it sure is inconvenient.

and a bleeding edge "nightly release" version

I thought there was one or two in the middle - like a "stable release" - this is what I want - not bleeding edge, but also not released a month ago. 

My real question is, though, can't I just add the (excuse my ignorance) "ppa" source to the "Discover app" for whatever the "not quite bleeding edge" release is, and have that be my default build? or does it still need to be done via SD card / flashing / terminal commands? 

I think I'd like to be a little more involved in testing, but not sure how dangerous I want to be. 

Either way, if there's a fix in "the latest kernel" for x*, how do I become more of a part of testing it? 

*x right now is: 
- I'm still missing calls, and noticing that the phone gets warm while this is happening
- I still can't send texts. 
- I still can't make calls when the phone is hot. 
- yesterday, I couldn't hang up from a call - had to shut the whole phone down, lol. 

In my mind, the most important function of a smart phone is the phone itself. I have to be able to reliably make and receive calls and texts.

I have not used a voice assistant so am not sure how useful it is, perhaps more useful when driving/piloting a vehicle; like Jarvis in Iron Man's power armor.
I am curious if this is something this community considers an important functionality for Debian Moble.
Now there was Saera https://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=84753 for the Maemo5 Linux Nokia N900 but it was something you had to hand build and I recall the voice recognition was not great.

Hello everybody,
I just received my new Pinephone Beta Edition With Convergence Package.
I tried to launch him but after few seconds of loading (with KDE logo, don't know if normal), the Welcome screen freeze and then a strange screen appears : After a series of numbers and letters that i don't understand and a nice "fffffffffff" (the same in my head), all I "understand" is "failed to read Who-Am-I register" (I can share a bad quality photo in a next post if you want).
Sometimes it goes untill wifi connection screen and the keyboard pop up (woaw) but after few seconds this screen appears again or a simple freeze or a black screen, it depends.
Also when I put the charger, it automatically turns on the phone, red then orange led few seconds and after nothing the led turns off (no charge I think) and the telephone crashes as usual.
I tried to do it with and without sim, with and without battery, with or without the charger . I wanted to share it with you before trying something else.
I did'nt found another topic on that subject (my mistake if there is).
I knew that I'll have to learn and be patient with buying this phone but not this soon ^^'

Please help me out nail the issue with my camera.

Im using PostmarketOS image and i was using Megapixel camera. Megapixel shows picture from camera (a lot of violet colours) but if i click button to make image it suddently hang megapixel.
No image will be saved anywhere in /home/user dir

Anybody knows if the board RockPro64 is meeting the requirement of low voltage standard of EN62368?
