Pinebook got wet |

Hi,
I could use some advice. I placed my Pinebook Pro near an open window and it rained on it a bit.
The lid was closed . Not soaked but there was some water on the inside, on the screen and keyboard. It does not boot anymore.
I opened it up. There was a little bit of water on the battery. Not a lot. Did not see any other wet spots. The charging light goes off after a couple of minutes when I connected the barrel plug.
I disconnected the battery and connected the bypass connector to power it without the battery. When I insert the barrel plug the green light goes on for a moment. The power button gives no effect.
I have the device now standing folded open with the battery disconnected and the back plate removed. To air it.
Anything I can do besides of waiting and hoping?
Thanks,
Walter

Vanilla mainline Debian 11 (Bullseye) on the RockPro64 |

I've been excited about Debian 11 (Bullseye) on the RockPro64 since hearing they've included official support for the board into the Debian installer. So I downloaded the image from https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/11....-DVD-1.iso, dumped it to a USB 3.0 stick (in the blue USB 3.0 port) and booted from the medium with a blank microSD card in the slot. That familiar installer menu comes up and boots the default selection, and then I get dropped to a GRUB command prompt every time. I do not have an eMMC drive installed in the machine. I do have Sigmaris U-Boot installed to the SPI. Any ideas what's causing Debian installer to abort like this?

Type Chinese |

Hi community members,
I freshly installed my pinephone with postmarketOS ("pmos" for short) and where able to let pmos to display traditional Chinese characters (by placing fonts inside /usr/share/fonts, through SD Card jump drive method ) in my contact list (through a vcf file from my samsung phone) and in firefox visiting some Chinese website. However, I just could not found a way to input any Chinese characters in pmos.
Back on my desktop with Linux installed, I have ibus-cangjie installed and have been using it for a very long time. As I see "Ibus" is a part of the package available in the apk application list, so I thought ibus-cangjie could be installable (or probably I could use it to input Chinese? I understand there is no Chinese virtual keyboard available either). I went through installing "git", "gcc", "m4", "automake", "gettext", and spending countless hours try to install cangjie and yet still unable to establish anything with inputing Chinese.
Is there a simple solution for inputing Chinese characters? Or am I just over doing it? Or I did not dig deep enough? Any input are all welcome.

Some apps don't have refresh button |

I've noticed that a couple of apps, Geary and Cawbird (Twitter), don't appear to have a way to check for new messages. Is there something about the PP screen size that has cut off UI buttons? Or, are they just supposed to do that at some polling frequency?
Thanks.

Pine phone Junior, message phone ? |

Just Curious IF :
Anyone is interested in a more basic phone that does not attempt to be a mini-computer ?
Maybe a step in the direction of the 'Pine Time' device.
A modem without a shared GPS, a slightly smaller device and less expensive. Maybe even a physical keyboard, and smaller screen.
Instead of competing against high spec smart phones with a low spec "smart phone"....
A phone that is "Just a Phone" ... ?
Maybe we can kick a few ideas around ? MORE CHOICES ?

PineTime touchscreen wakeup issue |

I've had my PineTime for a couple of weeks. I am running 1.4.0. Now my issue is with the touchscreen, specifically when trying to wake the PineTime with either a tap or a double tap. Sometimes I can tap it 10 or more times and it still will not wake up. Sometimes only pressing the button will work.
Once the PineTime is awake the touch screen is faultless, especially on 1.4.0 so I don't believe it is a hardware issue, although I am no expert. On 1.4.0 when awake, it is fast, fluid and sensitive.
From my experience of this issue, I do believe there is correlation with the unresponsive wake up taps and the length of time the screen has been asleep and/or correlation with the known issue of loss of Bluetooth connectivity with Gadgetbridge.
Upon successfully waking the PineTime, subsequent taps to sleep and wake again, repeatedly all work fine. The issue seems to become after the PineTime screen has been asleep for a while.
Can anyone else confirm this issue or does it appear to be just me?

PinePower 65W GaN Charger, where is the alleged switch? |

The PinePower 65W GaN Charger wiki and store pages both seem say that this pinepower model has a switch.
I love mine and have even bought it to give as a gift as the best future proof mobile phone charger.
I just cant see where a switch could even hide, someone help me out.
I suspect when it says:
Power - Input: AC 100-240V 50/60Hz 1.5A Max
- Output: 65W
- Power switch
it probably means it IS a switching power supply but the wording is vague and easily misunderstood.
I can fix the wiki but the store page needs to be clarified too unless an actual switch of dubious utility is insanely well hidden....
Also, can we have a heading in the forum for pinepower like other pine gadgets have?
