Control Screen |

I have a couple of questions:
Is there a way to turn the screen on and off from the command line (over an ssh connection)?
Is there a config file somewhere that I can edit to keep the screen on all the time (I want to be able to use the phone as a clock)? The settings in Plasma Mobile itself don't seem to do what I want them to...

PinePhone Covid Apps |

One very necessary use for a phone is Covid Location apps and going into the future Covid Passports.
Is the Pinephone and Pinephone Pro able to use these very necessary apps ?
or will we have to carry around an android phone for this purpose ?

Airplane mode |

Anyone know if there's a way to just permanently disable "airplane mode"? If I turn off bluetooth and wifi, it goes into "airplane mode" and also turns off the cell radio. This is really infuriating. Airplane mode is supposed to be a convenient way to turn off all the radios, not a reaction to turning off a couple radios.

Manjaro/Cinnamon customised on sdcard: how to transfer to emmc? |

I had the impression one could play with OSes on the sdcard -- running no danger of bricking the dear Pinebook Pro -- and then once all was as wanted, I could move it to the emmc. That's also implied on this excellent thread: https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=11666
However, I only see a link to transferring a stock install to emmc? What am I missing? I'd like to install *my* customized OS to emmc. (Sadly, I did not manage to maintain my changelog text file as intelligently suggested here. I think you have to be a professional developer to have that much discipline.)
If -- big if -- I could boot from something other than emmc or sdcard (eg USB? but that's not in the boot order, is it?), then presumably I could rsync the / dir to emmc (dev/mmcblk1 I think? I'd check before doing it!)
So, question #1: how to boot so I can do an rsync?
Question #2: best options when running rsync for everything to transfer well?
Or, Question #3, if there's a different and better way, what is it?
Thanks for your help! At wit's end here (please don't tell me I didn't have to go far )

scp.bin not found, can't complete apt upgrade |

I'm running Bookworm on my community edition Pinephone.
For the past couple weeks, every time I've tried a "sudo apt upgrade", it errors out with the error that it can't find /etc/lib/scp.bin.
I've tried running the Software app, it can't download the updates, complains of missing dependencies (but doesn't say what they are),
and now when I try to run apt update, it 404 errors on trixie-security and trixie-updates, then says there's no release file for trixie-security and trixie-updates, therefore they can't be updated securely and are disabled.
I tried sudo apt-get clean followed by sudo apt-get check followed by sudo apt-get -f install
after that it listed some packages that could be removed and then said 0 updated, 0 newly installed, 18 to remove, 380 to upgrade.
so I tried autoremove and got the original error:
md5sum: /usr/lib/crust/scp.bin: no such file or directory
And then I get two errors when the script tries to run scp.bin
Does anyone have any clue what is happening and what I need to do to fix it? Do I have to do a complete re-install?

input method headache |

Tried out several distros still prefer arch way, however input method prevent me from using it.
- input cursor at browser, terminal and alike usually not triggering input frame show up
- CJK still a headache
Personal feeling that fcitx or ibus not perform as expected as usually does on PC.
Ubuntu Touch seems a bit good at this. If arch could polish it, then it would be a better choice. Could the team or someone help? Appreciate it.
