In the last couple days, I've started building a website that will hopefully make it easier for the linux community to keep track of what apps are convergent (what works on mouse+keyboard, touch screen, does it fit on a phone screen). This started as a learning project for me but I think this might actually be super handy.
Here's a super rough draft/mockup of what the home page would look like. Is this something a lot of people other than me would be interested in?
Hi forum, I'm a brand new member to the community and a first time user of anything linux or Pine.....
I received my Pine64 phone yesterday, I've gone through the set-up process and have the phone up and running, connected to the internet, making and receiving calls.
I'm seeing a message saying there's an update available, Update 508 (1.1GiB), which appears to be a System upgrade. When I confirm the update it initiates the command and then I receive the following message.
I've got no idea what this means or how to navigate around it or if I even need to update my phone. I have a class10 256GiB memory card inserted straight out the packet.
Any assistance is most appreciated and I thank you in advance.
Does anyone know how to return a Pinephone .. just got it and I hate it .... I am VERY familiar with Linux.. but this phone is terrible .. battery lasts an hour ... have to reboot it constantly ..
I bought PinePhone got it but sadly the phone is not detecting the SD card, I tried different os but but the phone always boots to preloaded plasma-mobile.
What can I do ?
I am looking to make my own cluster but I noticed the clusterboard was out of stock and so is the SOPINE so I was curious if anyone had any recommendations for other similar products? Or if anyone knows when the PINE ones will be back in stock?
My Chatty for some unknown reason has stopped working, no message has been received since it stopped receiving messages. After rebooting, the problem still persisted. When the SIM Card was placed in another device, such as Samsung Galaxy s7, it can receive and send message normally, I double check with the phone service provider, nothing was wrong from their SMS service. Phones and contacts working without a problem, I can dial and view contacts.
Is there any good way to remedy Chatty to make it work again? What could be blocking it from working?
Is there a way to get extra chargers for the watch? I could really use one for home and one for at work, but they don't appear to be listed on Pine's store.
PS: GOODiX GT911 Programming Guide attached (might be relevant despite we have Goodix GT917S).
Please let me know if it's better to remove the document itself from here.
I'm trying to make the switch from an iPhone over to my new PinePhone, but when I insert my Verizon US sim card from the iPhone, the PinePhone doesn't seem to register that it is there. Do I need to get a new standard size sim card to make this work? I used the adapter thing, which was difficult at best, but looked like it went in there straight.
I am running Debian bullseye with a self-compiled kernel. The last working version I have available is kernel 5.12.12.
I now decided to try a more recent kernel and compiled kernel 5.15. Booting this kernel results in a garbled display.
To check whether the display still worked fine with older versions, I tried kernel 5.14.14 (which I am using for another RK3399 device). The same result, garbled display.
Please see the attached image for what the garbled display looks like.
It's not damaged hardware: the display works perfectly with kernel 5.12.12. It's not something in the DT: kernel 5.15 still results in a garbled display with the DT from kernel 5.12.12 and kernel 5.12.12 with the DT from kernel 5.15 gives a working display.
I did not spot any difference in the kernel configurations that seemed likely to cause the issue. I am not applying any patches to the kernel.
