New Pinebook owner, noob question. I figured out how to add the Privacyshark repo and how to install caidao. But when I run Caidao it just closes. When I run it from the command line, I get multiple errors which look like GPU / OpenGL errors. OpenGL is Panfrost Kali T860 v3.1.
Here's a sample of the error messages:

| Security when buying a second hand PinePhone |

Hi, everyone!
I want to buy this phone https://pine64.com/product/pinephone-bet...e-package/ from another person. They say it's like new and has only been tested.
Where could they hide malware in the phone?
Of course I'll reinstall the operating system and wipe the internal memory, but what types of firmware are there where someone could hide malware?
Is it possible to flash official firmware images from the Pine64 website or at least inspect the current firmware installed and compare a hash with other users? I'll inspect the phone for physical tampering, but if some firmware can be flashed with USB or other ways without desoldering or breaking some sort of seal, how would I know about it?
So basically: what types of firmware is there where malware could hide and how to detect whether the firmware(s) has been tampered with?
Thanks!

Metronome on PineTime |

Hey All,
I would like to ask if it would be possible with the current PineTime's hardware to build a vibrating metronome on it and:
- if so, how much effort would it require (roughly)
- if not, why
The metronome I am thinking of would be a device that gives a vibration pulse with a defined frequency (for instance ranging from 30bmp to 200bpm).
Thanks!
Mike

Hey everyone! Wanted to take a moment and share something I'm pretty excited about
I've been a retro-gamer for a long time now and proudly still own all my own childhood original systems from Atari2600 through N64. But when my brother gifted me an old Raspberry Pi a few years ago, it opened a door to an ENTIRELY new world for me haha
In my career I've done software development for a long time, and when the existing retro-gaming options on the pi didn't do what I wanted, I started looking into different available software and hardware options. That obviously then led me to Pine64!
Over the last few years I've contributed to the development on a lot of different emulators and systems, and have had some great conversations with TL and Lukasz. With their blessings I was able to concentrate on making a brand new custom distribution dedicated to optimizing performance and support for Rockchip chipsets and the Pine64 products that use them.
Some of you may remember seeing something about "Retro-Cone" awhile back, and the store for Retro-Cone just went live:
The Retro Center.
To get us started, Retro Center's only console option is the RockBox, which is a Pine64 set-top-box with roughly the same specs as the Rock64. It also has the Roshambo Gamepad in-stock. More options and additional stock will continue to be added over time.
The RockBox (and all future console options in the store) will ship with this new distribution pre-installed and ready to game!
You can read all about the new software option, R-CADE on Retro Center's website, but the big things to highlight are probably these: - 100+ Emulators
- 4K UHD Media Playback at 60fps in Kodi
- Lightweight Web Browser
If you're considering buying a RockBox or Gamepad, be sure to join the Retro Center discord channel so you can grab those early-adopter discount codes!
If you already own a Rock64 or RockBox, I'll be adding releases for both on Retro Center's GitHub page later this week.
ALL FUN - NO WORK
GAME ON!!

| SIM or SIM Adapter stuck, potential fix. |

Hello
Alot of people has had issues with the SIM adapter. It's very hard to get it in and the SIM easily slips out. If the SIM adapter goes in alone, it will be stuck in the pins and seemingly impossible to get out. I had this issue and i was afraid i broke my new phone, until I found a solution that worked for me which seemingly isn't mentioned anywhere on the forum. If anyone from Pine64 sees this, i would recommend changing the SIM installation method in the PinePhone Pro or in the next hardware revision.
Kind Regards
