Helloo
Today finallyyy a get this peace of hardware.
And when i try to update. oo error ... and error after error.
Well after reading researching, 2 h later i figure out one way to solve the issue.
The error pgp refer to the sig files, so i erase the sig file.
1 file error: archlinux-keyring-20220118-1any.pkg.tar.xz.sig or some like that.
2 file error: archlinuxarm-keyring-20140119-1any.pkg.tar.xz.sig or some like that.
make sudo pacman -Syu, make error happen, but dont erase the files. go to
/var/cache/pacman/pkg/ an erase the .sig, this is important.
and them install the package
sudo pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/package1.pkg.tar.xz
and try if you get another error like me, them
sudo pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/package2.pkg.tar.xz
After that you can try to install openssh or one prog o just try and update.
For me this solve this litlle problem. and system update DONE.
ello
Saludos.

hi,
i am having issues with my PPP (EE) - i can sometimes get it to start (from emmc), and then things are fine, but usually i dont get anything. no led, no buzz, nothing. i have now tried pressing "re" ... the exact sequence isnt clear to me. should i also press power? or simply press "re" while connecting via USB? dmesg on the machine i am connecting it to stays silent, no usb devices appear. also - battery in or out? does it make a difference?
the cable is fine, i tested it with another phone, and i have also swapped cables - and i also have charge the ppp on it before.
one thing i did notice was that the sd card slot sounded weird when i first inserted a card - i also have the original PP, and it did not have this issue. i would desribe the sound as "scratchy" - does anyone else have this issues?
what could i try? i would really like to keep playing with it.

A Pinephone case that'll actually prevent the screen from cracking |

I'm on about my 3rd screen replacement. Yes I'm quite clumsy and often drop the Pinephone.
So is there **any** Pinephone case that'll actually prevent the screen from cracking if you drop the Pinephone screen face down? If someone makes this case they'd make a lot of money from sales - I'd buy one and I'm sure many others would too.
What is everyone using for a durable Pinephone case? I've heard the soft and hard cases from Pine64 also don't prevent cracks..

Mepo - Minimalist and hackable OSM map viewer for mobile linux |

Hi all,
I wanted to drop a note here about a Pinephone-related project I'm working on - its a minimalist (and fast!) OSM map viewer targeting good compatibility/support with mobile Linux. The project name is Mepo. There are some demo videos & you can learn more at the project's homepage:
https://sr.ht/~mil/mepo/
As for features it does POI searches, routing, bookmarks, offline mode, and some other neat stuff.
Right now its packaged for Alpine (postmarketOS edge), and NixOS.
For UI support: I'm working on Phosh compatibility for the next release (0.4) and its already quite usable in Sxmo and on desktop Linux (wayland & X).
I'm posting here as outside of the Sxmo mailing list, I haven't mentioned the project in many other places (!) but wanted to make sure the community is aware of the project! Feel free to file tickets on the bug tracker on sr.ht and also I can answer questions here. Trying to gather some more feedback and the project is open for contributions/suggestions etc. My idea is to beat the Google Maps/Apple Maps experience and offer a superior freedom-respecting and hackable experience for the Pinephone et al.!
---
Update: 1.0 has been released, you can read more at the mailing list update at:
https://lists.sr.ht/~mil/mepo-devel/%3C4...ail.com%3E
With the new release, mepo now supports Phosh, Sxmo, and now Plasma Mobile out-of-the-box.
Additionally per request a flatpak has been added as well to Flathub so usage on Mobian and other distros is now doable, see:
https://flathub.org/apps/details/com.milesalan.mepo
On postmarketOS edge, to install you can run:
Code: apk add mepo-scripts
See the install guides for other distributions at: http://mepo.milesalan.com/installguide.html
A new documentation website is at: http://mepo.milesalan.com
And demo videos are at: http://mepo.milesalan.com/demos.html

Guide: Recovering from not being able to boot to eMMC or working sdcard |

(This guide assumes you've written a working Pinephone Pro image to an sdcard.)
Note: I own both a Pro and an older PostmarketOS edition Pinephone, both won't recognize USB-C power unless the cable is the "right way up" (this is with multiple Anker and Tripp-Lite high quality USB-C cables using the Pine64 power brick, a laptop and a desktop as a source). You may need to rotate the cable till you can determine which way is considered "up" for method A:
Method A. Boot to sdcard using the reset method:
1. Open the backplate and hold reset (pinhole top left) while inserting USB-C power.
2. Release reset after 4 seconds.
Note: If you hold reset till the sdcard boots it won't be able to see the eMMC.
Method B. Boot to sdcard using the power drain method:
1. Remove USB-C power and the battery.
2. Hold down the power button for 10 seconds, release for 3 seconds, hold down the power for 10 seconds, release the power button.
3. Re-insert the battery and follow steps from method A above.
Background:
Method A worked for me when Plasma Mobile was installed but after I wrote the Pro edition of Mobian-installer to the eMMC it bricked my phone. Through trial and error I discovered method B which worked 100% of the time where method A would always fail. It's an old trick I picked up flashing Android phones a long time ago, sometimes there's residual power hanging around that can prevent the chips from resetting properly. I performed a lot of tests (~20+) using method A vs B in different scenarios, orders and duplications to make sure it wasn't a fluke or something else that was allowing Method B to work over A.
Automatically booting to sdcard
Follow this guide: https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=15879
Note: The dd command didn't work for me till I removed "count=4" and I pressed ctrl+c on the virtual keyboard about a minute in. That's extremely crude, no doubt there's a better way but that's what worked from me.
Just for reference (READ THE GUIDE FROM THE LINK FIRST) the command I used in Mobian (running on the sdcard) was:
sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/mmcblk2 bs=8k # Wait 1 minute, ctrl+c

How do I switch users? |

I created a new user through Settings > Users, but I can't find a way to switch from the default "manjaro" user to my new one. It feels silly that I can't find it, but how do I switch users?
