Can I use Raspberry Pi3 Power supply for Pine?
Posted by: nizam27391 - 05-19-2016, 09:21 PM - Forum: General Discussion on PINE A64(+) - Replies (7)

Hi all,

I'm about to receive my Pine64 by this week/next week. I didnt bought the power supply by Pine64 during pledge.

But I currently have a raspberry pi 3 running and thinking I could use Pine to replace my current rasp pi.
So can I use raspberry pi 3 power supply to power up Pine64?
The power suppl y is 2.5A. And as I know Pine need 2.0A power supply.
Will it cause trouble to Pine like overload or something?

Hope you can help me.
Thanks in advance .  Big Grin

I'm entering debian for the user and password and I'm getting "Incorrect Password, please try again". Did I miss a different password?

Thank you,

Zayx

  Power off/shutdown android
Posted by: Informatica - 05-19-2016, 01:16 PM - Forum: Android on Pine A64(+) - Replies (12)

Hi,
Today I tried Android on my Pine. I think it is the best solution now but... how can I shutdown the system?

I received the power button and I have inserted it in the "power" location but when I push it nothing happens.

Are there instruction for installing that button? Or, how power off android without it?

thank in advance

  Terminal in Remix OS

Is there a way to pull up the terminal in Remix so I can check what is going on with my USB Wifi device. I cannot get any android image to recognize it.

Android possible on 512 MB Ram ?
Posted by: ShinjiIkari - 05-19-2016, 12:32 PM - Forum: Android on Pine A64(+) - Replies (8)

Hi folks,

i received my Pine64 board. Works well, but i am no really friend of Linux after all.
I know it will be laggy like hell, but shouldnt it be possible to run Android on a 512mb Pine ?
I mean my Smartphone has only 512 MB Run and runs it too.
I installed the rom on a Sandisk Class 10 32 gig card and all i got is a pixel square at the start (same card runs fine with debian).

On the pine wiki and product page is stated that they recommen a 1gig RAM for Android, but not that it is impossible to run it on 512 MB machines.
Anywone got it runing on the "small" Pine ? Maybe i just did some wrong stuff.
Or is ist impossible. I used the image writer and the image to write it to my card, you can not do much wrong with that, right ? Card should be fast enough, cause it runs the Linux fine.

Thanks for your help guys.

Shinji

How to set-up a Static IP?
Posted by: marco97pa - 05-19-2016, 10:38 AM - Forum: Linux on Pine A64(+) - Replies (2)

I am running Ubuntu on the PINE. How can I set up a static IP?

Probably stupid question from me re: installation
Posted by: RAK64pine - 05-19-2016, 08:56 AM - Forum: Getting Started - Replies (7)

So I have a 64gb card, brand new. It passed the "counterfeit" test apps, I run the Phoenix program to install the appropriate Remix image, it COMPLETES the burn, only when I exit the program, the card shows it's still empty. Popping the card into the Pine64 board doesn't bring up the splash screen or anything (because card is "blank").

I haven't gotten around to getting another card or smaller capacity image to try. Any suggestions at this point? I fully admit to being a complete newb. Thanks in advance.

  White Screen

I finally managed to burn the Android Image after 2 days of trying.

Now when I turn on I get a squared white pattern which covers over with white, the screen then goes black and it does the same again, then the screen just stays white!

I am using the HDMI to VGA adaptor, is there a problem with my monitor not being able to handle the resolution.

Video Ubuntu + Serviio
Posted by: jamesread90 - 05-19-2016, 04:02 AM - Forum: Pine A64 Projects, Ideas and Tutorials - Replies (8)

I have used Serviio as a media server at home for my movies and music for many years now, and prefer it to PLEX.
Has anyone thought of or tried using the following ideas:

Android: Using the Serviio Media Browser App along side MPlayer to stream media from an Internal or External Network

Ubuntu: Using the web server capability of Serviio to stream content through the Web Browser or other uPnP application?

When I receive my Pine64+ 2GB I will be trying this. I have seen some threads about the GPU not being utilised properly yet to run this sort of thing smoothly? Am I correct in thinking this?

Thanks  Big Grin
