  Disable pinch-to-zoom in chromium
Posted by: angry_elf - 07-23-2017, 03:24 AM - Forum: Linux on Pinebook - Replies (15)

Hello.

I'm using pinebook for a few weeks and stuck with unwelcome featue - pinch to zoom event during ordinary scrolling with to fingers.

Chrome resizes page (very slow on big webpages) and it's very annoying.

Can I disable this behaviour?

I disabled touch events in chrome, but it wasn't helps - pinch-to-zoom still active.

I can't find any appropriate utility to configure pinebook's touchpad. Looks like it isn't synaptic (synclient said - no synaptics driver loaded).

  Flashing SD card over USB
Posted by: ccben - 07-22-2017, 01:48 AM - Forum: Linux on Pine A64(+) - Replies (5)

Hello all,

I'm developing my own PCB around the A64 and am currently using a Pine64 to develop my flashing procedure (want to have just eMMC on the board). For right now what I'm trying to do is flash a linux image to the blank SD card on the Pine64 using only the USB OTG port. It seemed like this was supported when I found Ayufan's USB Mass Storage, but I didn't get it to boot. The FEL interface becomes unresponsive, and the serial output shows us getting up to 'pmbus ready' I've got serial output from a few runs here: https://pastebin.com/tDve7G3t

After chatting with marcushh777 on the #Pine64 IRC channel, I decided to put that aside to try and better understand the boot process. The last couple of weeks I've been experimenting with different branches of u-boot/u-boot-sunxi and Longsleep's build-pine64-image repo, and was able to build that image, write it to RAM (over a period of hours) using u-boot over serial, and then write that image to the board. That's pretty exciting, and was a great learning experience, but I'm not quite sure what I should do next to get to achieve my single-port goal.

I was thinking about embedding an RNDIS driver into u-boot, but that would still require a second interface to initiate a TFTP transfer, though maybe another endpoint could be established to present the serial over USB as well. I'm not quite sure where to start with u-boot, either. I haven't managed to boot the mainline u-boot with ported H3 DRAM drivers, but a sunxi branch (20160126-wip-a64) with AW's libdram does boot.

It seems to me that I must be missing something, because this functionality seems like something that must have been implemented somewhere, even if it hasn't been ported to the A64. Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can proceed from here?

Thanks!

What images will rock have available on release?
Posted by: Gnx - 07-21-2017, 07:10 PM - Forum: Linux on Rock64 - Replies (3)

I havent seen any release os images posted for testing either for those who got pre-release boards or otherwise. I guess im just asking what os images will we see upon first shipment if we preorder?

Im interested in debian mostly, but im also interested in what else will be available. Given the price point these might replace several pi's for me.

Xenial Mate 0.7.5-88 - LCD off after resume
Posted by: nicole.f - 07-21-2017, 05:09 PM - Forum: Linux on Pinebook - Replies (4)

Hi,
just tried the Xenial Mate release 0.7.4-86 and 0.7.5-88. Both seem to work mostly fine except for two issues.

If sunxi-drm is enabled then suspend (to RAM) does not work anymore, the device does not fully go to sleep and never resumes.

If sunxi-drm is not enabled then suspend works, also resume mostly seems to work but the LCD stays off (black) and I do not know any way to re-enable it.

Release 0.6.2-77 does properly suspend and resume.

Cheers

  Pinebook picky with microSD cards?
Posted by: nicole.f - 07-21-2017, 09:22 AM - Forum: Pinebook Hardware and Accessories - Replies (2)

Hi,
I don't know if this is a hardware issue with my Pinebook 11.6" or a general issue... but mine is very picky about the microSD cards it works with. I tried quite a bunch and found only one working flawlessly by now. All others sooner or later result in kernel error reports of some sort of timeout or other errors, like:

...
data error sending stop command
send stop command failed
mmcblk0: timed out sending r/w command, card status 0x400900
...

Does this happen to other users too?

Is there a know workaround?

Cheers

  Ethernet issue
Posted by: Matthew - 07-21-2017, 06:23 AM - Forum: Debian - Replies (4)

Hello,

Installed the latest pine64-image-debianmate-310102bsp-2.img, it flashed fine, running on a Pine64 2GB board, using the Wi-Fi / BT module.

When Debian starts up, the Eth0 connection says connected, and the negotiation icon on top right stays on and moving, thing is, i don't even have an Ethernet cable plugged in and it says "Connected"? I have to disconnect the connection before it stops. When I plug an Ethernet cable in, it will not initiate DHCP, or if i insert static, there is just no connection.

I even inserted the SD into another Pine64 board, same result. Eth0 just won't work, Wi-FI works fine though. Any suggestions?

p.s I did run the scripts to update etc...

Project DAW Platform: Fully capable Audio Production, Recording Station
Posted by: speedro86 - 07-21-2017, 04:27 AM - Forum: Pine A64 Projects, Ideas and Tutorials - Replies (4)

Since I ordered my Pine64+, my goal has been to use it as a base for a small, portable full Audio Production Station. I am planning on running a DAW with midi input, audio in/out, full functioning audio interface integration, with the ability to sync up with my work studio. This is in the early stages, but I believe it will be simple to implement. MORE TO COME!!!!

Lightbulb Pinebook SDIO gpio control using SD card slot blog post
Posted by: MarkHaysHarris777 - 07-20-2017, 04:56 PM - Forum: Pinebook Hardware and Accessories - Replies (15)

This is my first experiment with bringing some of the A64 gpio mux lines to the outside via the SD card slot;  SDIO.  These are data lines D0-D3, CMD, CLK, VDD, & VSS.  The lines are gpio160 - gpio166;  PF0 - PF6.

The pic above is the 48cm ribbon cable that extends the SD micro slot to a full size card adapter;  this ribbon is useful in itself;  but I plan to modify it for pin access on a solderable bread-board.

These two shots are the modified ribbon cable;  this was actually easier than I expected.  The cable will extend under the notebook.

The two shots above show the finished cable running;  I have the green and red LED(s) initially connected to CMD and CLK.  These are pulsing at regular 3/4 second intervals (or so).  The gpio(s) are not useful in this state;  next I need to hack the dts and make sure that the pin function register has '0' s.

Can I use Citrix receiver on Pinebook?
Posted by: eishi - 07-19-2017, 09:35 PM - Forum: Linux on Pinebook - Replies (1)

I want to use Citrix receiver, but we can do to download it
that made by ARM HF and ARM LF architecture on Citrix web site.
But ARM HF and ARM LF are diffarent from ARM64  architecture.
Can Pinebook run a software made by ARM HF or ARM LF architecture?
Or is there any other good way?
