| Crashes when trasferring large folders |

Hey! Since I have gotten my RockPro64 to use as a NAS, I have constantly experienced crashes when transferring large folders (mostly game files). A particular example which always causes crashes is my modded ARK install, spanning 160GB in 110000 files and 8000 folders.
When transferring said folder over rsync, both local or over the network, one of the next cases appears about 2-10 GB into the download: - rsync crashes and the download stops (this sometimes shows a message in the kmsg about hung processes)
- the kernel throws an "Oops", which seems to be always different although I do not have the skills to debug it
- the entire system just freezes up, with no panic or other indication visible on my HDMI monitor
- the entire system just resets
When trying to rule down the problem, I found out that- it's not a filesystem problem, it occurs on btrfs, ext4, zfs on linux and zfs on freebsd
- it's not a hard drive problem, I tested two HDDs and one SSD
- it's not a SATA controller problem, it occurs both on my PCIe card and on a USB adapter
- it's not a network card problem, running iperf for long periods of time is fine
- it's probably not a ram problem, I ran `memtest` with the highest value I could give it and I ran a MemTest86 test
- it's not a linux distro (I was using Debian 11 and 12) problem or a linux kernel problem, the issues occur in a similar manner on FreeBSD
- it's not a problem with my laptop's hard drive (or with the files, whatever that may be), I can transfer the folder onto different x86 machines
The issue mostly appears when transferring computer games. The ARK folder never completed transferring, but some smaller (20-40GB) games did (although inconsistently) when transferred at lower speeds, e.g. over the network or to/from an HDD. I also tried to tar the folder, both on my laptop before transferring over the network, and locally when plugging the drive to the rockpro64. The system still experienced crashes.
Interestingly, I also tried sending my laptops /dev/urandom over netcat to the NAS, which never crashed it, not even after reaching the 100GB mark and at high speeds.
Now, half a year after trying to use my rockpro64 as a NAS, I am truly clueless about the nature of this problem. I really don't know what to try to diagnose next.
Below you can find journald entries of the kernel oopses and hung processes. I don't seem to be able to upload pictures of FreeBSD kernel panics due to image size.
I hope that someone has a clue about what may be going on on my system.

| gnome-control-center: segmentation fault on startup |

Since an update within the last three days, I can't open the Settings app (gnome-control-center) any more.
It quits returning a segmentation fault. I reinstalled gnome-control-center,itself and the packages it depends on.
Still segmentation fault on startup.
Is there anything I can do about that but reinstalling the whole OS?
I had that problem already some time ago and I could only help myself by setting up the whole system again. I'd like to avoid that...
Thanks!

| PPP as a PDA. |

I am using my PPP as a PDA and it works fantastic with Arch Linux Phosh. I shut off the modem and the device is as cool as ever. Never overheats even while on wifi. At present with mild usage through the day I'm in the 8th hour of usage and the battery reads 87% remaining. I'm guessing that the PPP could go around 12 hours of use depending on usage type.

Mobian with X11 without Wayland and Phosh. |

Hello
I have quite a big challenge (for me).
Well, a few years ago I wrote an application in Python and TKinter. It ran without issue on a Raspberry Pi 3 A+ under an X11 display server.
I set it to run on startup and take up the full screen.
The user did not have access to the installed system and could not close my application.
I created an interface for WiFi, sound, system shutdown, etc. All settings were in my application.
Nothing could be installed or uninstalled. This is how it was supposed to be. Just my app.
Now I would like to transfer all this to PinePhone.
I added XWayland, all the necessary libraries and finally the application started.
It works fine, but there is one big problem.
Full screen not working properly. The two bars in Phosh (bottom and top) are still visible.
A user can go into the system and kill my application, add another one of their own, etc.
This is undesirable for this application.
And now the questions:
How do I disable these two system bars at the top and bottom?
If this can't be done, how do I install a clean Mobian/Debian and X11 server so that I can run my application?
I hope it runs and she's the only one on screen.
How do I run my application on device startup?
I am asking for help because I am a beginner in Linux and PinePhone.

| Rockpro64 disappointment |

After wasting countless hours trying different OS variants for the RockPro64, it's clear that, for someone without a coding background, the process of installing and using a stable or fully functional Linux version is a nightmare! It's mind-boggling how needlessly and frustrating this task is, especially in this day and age when user-friendliness should be a basic expectation. It's an absolute disappointment and a source of pure frustration!
I'm sorry for expressing this, but I felt the need to share it before I throw mine in the trash.

I tried to dd the Mobian image as I've done with Rhino to the internal flash of the Pinetab Pro.
After this the tab doesn't seem to start anymore. It didn't boot from the emmc, nor will it boot from SD.
What should I do to get things up and running again?

Broken boot: What am I missing? |

Hello all!
I am currently debugging why my RockPro64 is failing to boot. I am connected via UART, and I appear to be stuck trying to grab some `boot.scr.uimg` file from the network. This happens even if I don't have an SD card inserted into the SBC, so I imagine it's something fundamentally broken. The output is:
Code: DHCP client bound to address 192.168.1.2 (2 ms)

I can drop to a shell and start doing things, but I am unsure of where to go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
