I received my Pinebook today and I'm very impressed as it is a great machine.
One issue though: After usually around 2-3 minutes connected to the internet the internet drops on the device and I get 'temporary failure in name resolution' error when I try to ping a website. The net is clearly still up for the rest of my devices so I'm trying to get to the bottom of this issue so I can make pinebook usable. I'm sitting fairly close to the AP so I don't think it is like the 'weak wifi card' issue another user seems to be having
Any one have any ideas? Just thought I would ask before I troubleshoot through half a dozen possible fixes.
Maybe someone else has the same issue and we can learn something. If I fix it I'll write here.
OK, so resolv.conf had nothing in it, so I made it writeable with sudo chmod o+r /etc/resolv.conf, rebooted then it automaticlly added some hosts and the net has stayed up for 10 min so far

Concerning the NVMe drive :
Would using a NVMe to usb adapter be of any assistance to formatting and installing the software to it ?
If you use a separate computer to download software, or if you needed to wipe it and reload it, etc... ?
I am still waiting for the updated parts to arrive, and the new drive is just sitting here waiting......

I was firing up a build on 5 cores for 60 min. After 45 min, wifi constantly died and needed to be manually restarted . 15 min later, the build was done and wifi became stable, again.

I've been experimenting with the mainlain kernel that tsys has been working on. One thing I picked up on is that the trackpad goes pretty crazy (point movement is completely wrong and keeps jumping the mouse cursor to top left) unless CONFIG_HID_MULTITOUCH is set in the kernel config.
When CONFIG_HID_MULTITOUCH isn't set the kernel should be falling back to legacy (mouse) protocols. I haven't looked very deeply at this point I am suspicious that the trackpad firmware simply isn't implementing the fallback protocols properly... so I wanted to check if this is a known bug (or a plausible theory)?

Assuming the v1.1 update from mrfixit writes all of the bootloaders it looks like the bootloaders consist of three binaries: idbloader.img, uboot.img and trust.img (which strings suggests is a version of [Arm] Trusted Firmware-A).
It looks like the source for uboot.img would be uboot.img is https://github.com/mrfixit2001/rockchip-u-boot. Is that right (and is the build process "obvious")?
Additionally is there source (or partial source) available for either of the other components?

I have a new PineBook Pro, and simply want to boot from an SD image. I've carefully followed the instructions to create a Bionic LXDE Community Build using Etcher on my Mac. From what I have been able to understand, all I need to do is insert the formatted card into the PineBook and power on in order to boot to the SD, but it won't. Instead, the PineBook always boots to the default OS that was delivered with the device.
I am totally stuck. I've looked through the forums and tried various images with the same result.
I've reviewed the common issues posted by 'Ghost' and none apply to my environment.
Is there some kind of boot sequence key combination that I need to press to boot using the image on the SD card?
Any guidance is appreciated. Thank you!
