Especially since it was in the FAQ on KS that it will be implemented.

Yes. CEC was one of the main reasons i pledged for Pine64. CEC makes it very comfortable for a media center.

I just ordered my Pine64 and I wanted to use it with android on my TV.
However I was wondering if there is a way to control the android with something else than a mouse and keyboard. I was a raspberry pi user (with OSMC on it) and I controlled it with my phone.
The goal for me is having on the Pine apps like netflix, kodi for having my complete media center, and some games like angry birds that I can play with a remote.

Is something like that possible?

Thanks a lot!

Just get the Pine64 IR remote control kit. You also can configure your Harmony remote or others universal remote using the IR code, http://files.pine64.org/doc/Pine%20A64%2...t-logo.jpg,  provided at Pine64 wiki page. Please remember to add an IR receiver (3 pins) in front of the Pine A64 board.
Hmm... I really aren´t an expert. Did get a 3-pin IR receiver, plugged it in... but: Can´t get any IR remote to work. For Logitech Harmony or Oneforall: Any idea what devide to setup? And: Is there an Android app availabe (similar to "Android TV Remote") to control the PINE64 with the smartphone?

best regards

The Android build already has the IR driver build in and should be work as is. Please make sure that you use the provided remote control and try out. If you plan to use Logitech Harmony, please program the IR command code that you can get on the Pine64 wiki page.

I have the codes, and the IR receiver as advised.
But there is no way to just have NEC code 4040 programmed in a harmony or a pronto.
It would help if the code was using a code that is from a standard device in the harmony or pronto catalog.

Is the remote the same as other remotes (adafruit..?)

I have difficult time to figure out system code : 4040, is it HEX code or Decimal code? I assume it is HEX code as it specified beside key codes (in HEX). I did simulate this HEX code on arduino but not working. My rock64 setup as TV box. Can someone with pine64 A64 IR remote capture some logic raw data? I tried logitech harmony 650 and input pine64 as manufacture and rock64 as model number but still not working. Called logitech tech rep but no help. Can anyone help?

For what it's worth, Valve software just unlocked the Bluetooth radio on their Steam Controller and plan to release a Steam Link app for Android (May 21st). I've already gotten the Steam controller working via Bluetooth on my Pine64+ with Android TV installed (Although, until the Steam Link software is released, it's just a mouse). I've often thought the Steam Controller has the potential to be an awesome smart multi media remote.....here's the link...

To just possibly add some value to this old thread, I am configuring a Pine64 plus board with the IR receiver and mainline kernel using ir-keytable. It turns out that just about any NEC protocol codes are picked up.

So far I have had success with codes from (among others):

OTT TV Box (MXQ Pro64)
Squeezebox Touch
Hifi360 HF-D1B

I don't know how you would configure android to use the codes, but the board picks them up, so in Linux at least configuring them is not a problem.
