Think I may have located the problem. Mine has the original 1366x768 display and it seems the kernel 4.19 only likes the 1920x1080 display. I'll try again after the swap since that's what got Manjaro to go. Armbian, Manjaro and DietPi using 4.19 would not boot with the old display.
