PhoenixCard app is not really an option for me as the several computers I am running are all Mac OSX. I do have a netbook running Mint Linux. Looking for option that will work for the OS I have. Also any specific Allwinner requirements might be helpful. I am comfortable with CLI and did a recent install of MintLinux with a formatted USB thumb drive from the Mac. Sure it is possible but need to be pointed in the right direction.
The one 'special' thing that PhoenixCard does (and that's why some people think it's a requirement) is adjusting the partition scheme to the size of the card where you want to flash the image to. Therefore without a Windows VM you're lost at the moment.
An alternative would be the Pine folks talking to their developers to implement a dynamic partition resizing mechanism on first boot and to provide an 4GB image that can be burned the usual way (WinDiskImager, Rufus, dd on Linux and OS X)
Interesting. Well my guess is that once set these partitions remain the same. There would have to be some sort of partition scheme for various sized disks. If I know what that is I could recreate it.
