Probably still a pipe dream for now.

Most apps that become popular and can run on a phone get ported to ARM typically, but it may take a while for that to happen. That's one reason why I wish mobile devices didn't use ARM and instead we could have x64 tablets / phones that use the same software packages as desktop / laptop devices.

x64 is a very complex architecture while ARM is like RiscV a lot simpler which allows it to work more efficient specially at the time smartphones started and they also tend to have a lower heat output (idk if that's caused by the architecture tho)

I had a Surface and Surface 3 tablet before, putting a decent x86 processor in such a thin machine makes all apps running without issues, but it makes the tablets boiling hot really quick, which negatively affects battery life as well.

Last time I saw "x64" being mentioned as an architecture was a whole decade ago before 64-bit became the norm.

I have the Manjaro Beta Convergence Pinephone. I'm trying these browsers. So far:
Angelfish comes pre-installed, and works, mostly. It's a little buggy, but works OK between crashes so far.
Firefox looks OK, but the keyboard never pops up, so I cannot type in any URLS.
Vivaldi is the same way.

I've tried suspending and going back to both programs, but that doesn't make them pop up the keyboard. Not sure if the problem is in the programs or in the keyboard. The keyboard and everything else is a little flakey, as I expect a beta version to be.
Edited to add: Installled Chromium, it seems to work great, but cannot get the keyboard. It would surely be nice if there were a way to trigger the keyboard that didn't depend on the program - maybe a hardware button?

NetSurf is a nice lightweight web browser that can be used on PinePhone. It does not support latest web technologies, but many websites with simple HTML and CSS can be rendered fine.

I really like this browser. I might try to add support for touchscreen and GtkIM if I have time, but I have very little experience with Gtk.

Sounds like NetSurf is a browser all other browsers are supposed to be TBH.
Really hate it when modern single page websites use more resources than a modern 3D PC game.
