sudo nano file saving pinephone beta edition

I have run into a simple yet gamebreaking issue. My virtual keyboard does not recognise the ctrl+x input that would allow me to save changes in files. or rather.
I've run into the issue of the screen shutting off after a half second when not on charge (and only when not charging), but have been trying to manually change the screen settings in powermanagementprofilesrc file. but because I cannot save my changes, my phone is unusable when not on charge. what could I possibly be doing wrong?
I am running kde plasma, for reference. and let it be known I am a recent convert from windows and ios, and have minimal knowledge of linux.

That did the trick, thanks heaps.

For posterity if that thread gets taken down, the solution is to press control then press escape twice and THEN hit x
No idea why using the konami code makes it work, but it is what it is
