I'd guess that would need the a64's hardware trustzone feature to be implemented in software - which it probably isn't at the moment.

GloDroid 0.6.1 has been released recently: https://github.com/GloDroid/glodroid_man...tag/v0.6.1
I hope to find the time to make a quick install guide video for the SD card install next week to draw some attention to the project.

Edit: Here it is!

Wink
Coincidentally, I also did a tutorial on installing GloDroid almost at the same time as linmob. Wink

Just wanted to chime in; I set up GloDroid on an SD card for my pinephone last night, and it feels like so much progress has been made. I haven't put a SIM card in it to test phone calls or data usage, but every-day usage like browsing the internet on Firefox or installing whatever from F-Droid feels so natural, and it just works!

It's amazing how well this device runs with software that was made for phones. As excited as I am for other prospects like Manjaro+Plasma Mobile, this is far and away the most pleasant to use experience on my pinephone right now in 2021.

It's actually so smooth I gotta wonder; Is Glodroid using full hardware acceleration with the mali400 GPU in the pinephone?

It feels buttery smooth sometimes, but when I tried installing a camera application, the cameras will not work. Also, I heard phone features do not work yet.

Hello all,

I Installed the 0.6.1 version into eMMC using the guide in (https://youtu.be/WbqzMXsnEEA) and it runs perfectly smooth. Going through the menus is easy and fast, amazing. Installed Firefox works very well, use F-droid to install anything, Newpipe needs a second to start and is fine, sound is good but low volume, screen is very stable all around.

A few comments:

- Missing phone operation (this is important Smile ;
- Wifi has glitches (^goes off and to reconnect switching off and on again is necessary);
- BT works (was able to transfer a file between androids);
- Name of device goes back to stock after reboot;
- No Headphones;
- No lockscreen (pin security or password);
- No camera;
- No GPS?;
- VLC could not play a 1080 video downloaded using Newpipe.
- Build update through flash only(is this correct?;

Very good work, keep it up!!

This is a super small thing I noticed, but it feels like the built-in speaker is not being used to its full potential. Yea its not a great speaker, but I can barely hear audio at max volume. Wouldn't even be an issue if I could use the headphone jack.

Is there a way like OTA updates to update GloDroid/Android itself without turning the device off and reflashing the entire system? It feels a bit less than ideal to basically factory reset to see how the latest update works.
