Thanks @Danct12 Smile

Can confirm both images work (boot up, accept input, connect to WiFi, etc) on my early adopters PineTab device.

Awesome stuff!

I loaded the full image. Worked well enough, with some notes:

1) The notes said audio doesn't work. It does work. You need to load alsa-utils via pacman and run alsa-mixer. Select the sound card (not default, the other one) and then go unmute/turn up a bunch of different things. Not sure which ones did it. Line Out is the main volume. AIF1 DAC makes it distorted if you go past the green/white area. Same for DAC. DAC Mixer AIF1 must be unmuted.

2) Could not get out of portrait mode until I realized it was locked. Worked after that.

3) No BlueTooth

4) GUI Update didn't seem to want to work, but Pacman did fine

5) Fonts are terrible

6) Volume control doesn't work.

7) Keyboard LEDs DO work (at least caps lock)

8) Trackpad works!

Much more of a "true" Linux experience so highly suggest this if you don't like the Ubuntu Touch stuff.

Edit: Oh yeah, no cameras, I think.

Any chance of enabling the keyboard (or even usb mouse) during first boot? my screen's broken so I can't press the unlock button, but I'd really like to try this.

If you start typing the password (123456 by default) I believe it will open like you swiped it.

Arch Linux ARM (20200913):
  • First image release for the PineTab Early Adopter devices!
  • Audio support for PineTab
  • Fixed camera on PineTab
  • Calls now inhibit suspend (no more unintended suspend while talking!)
  • Callback button has been added, now missed calls can be called through notifications.
  • Fixed Wi-Fi hotspot
  • Haptic feedback for keyboard

Great work! I love finally having Arch on a tablet, super cool! Really impressed by the functionality as it is.

I hacked together a quick fix for the lockscreen always reverting to portrait mode, by simply reverting an old Merge Request (https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/phosh/-/m...quests/411). The layout issues mentioned there don't seem to affect the PineTab; I can see the Submit button and all.

You can grab a patched copy of the 'phosh' package here: https://github.com/aqtrans/pinetab-stuff...pkg.tar.xz

Now I'm not too sure how to properly apply this from the get-go, so it only affects the PineTab.

Looks good. I managed to do it with no external computer. I downloaded the image and dd'd it to an SDCard. Then booted from there and moved the image file over to the SD card. Then I dd'd the internal flash to an image file for backup, followed by a DD of the Arch image to the internal flash. Worked great.

Pro tip: Another microSD card is just the right size to use to push the card in far enough for it to pop out. Tight fit.

Thank you for your work on this! At first I thought the image wouldn't boot, but I accidentally flashed the Pinephone image. Now that I have the correct image, it is working very well. The sound control is fairly good without having to dig into the terminal with alsamixer. I used a USB headset-works fab. Using the 3,5 mm audio jack didn't work..but I didn't feel up to fiddling with it since the sound on the USB headset is better anyway. Overall, one of the best out images available. Thanks again!

I was reported that it works fine for another user, maybe you just need to switch the headphone from UART back to audio?
